Need help identifying this sofa and love seat. Any help is great
Comments (2)It's "French Provincial" that was popular in the 60's and 70's...maybe even started in the late 50's. Only sat on by adults wearing their good clothes. Never used for TV viewing, no kids nor dogs, no eating in that room unless it was a cocktail party and you were wearing pearls and high heels. LOL! Very nice...and I think you got a great buy! Clean it up a little and keep the kids and dogs off of it and never drink red wine anywhere near it! Linda C...See MoreOpen concept great room upon entrance with two seating areas
Comments (3)Congrats on the new home. If the end wall in the second pic can be a solid wall, you might be better served to have your tv centered on that wall (or in one of its corners) and have your sofa (w/sofa table or desk or cabinet or bookcase of equal height behind it) serve as a room divider between entry and seating area rather than having foot traffic forever walking between your tv and your seating area....See MoreEntrance Room/Great Room Design Help!
Comments (3)Window treatment for sure! A console & a seating bench for entranceway. May be a small partition to separate view of dining for strangers from entrance door. A conversation, reading area maybe with comfortable seating. Cozy rug underneath! A pendant above dining for that dinner ambience... A plant or two to brighten up the space. It will all fall in place, one thing at a time. Eventually you can add some wall art, DIY or from your travels or antique markets.....See MoreHelp with room addition - furniture!!
Comments (51)Good catch, Becky! I noticed the same thing. Back to the OP - we had a room like that off the kitchen, and at one point I made it the dining room and pulled the comfy furniture into where the dining/kitchen table sat. It worked really well on warm summer evenings when the air was warm but the bugs were excruciatingly determined. I had very comfortable dining chairs, and we'd be out there for hours. For the rest of the year, I did put the sofa on one side, and a couple of chairs vaguely angled opposite, so people could chat out there and with whomever was wafting around the kitchen. Would you consider a vintage rug? They're usually relatively inexpensive, and not genericWayfair type seen everywhere. They're surprisingly inexpensive to have professionally cleaned, too, if you're relatively near a decent urban centre....See Mores_lanz
