Need living room layout, decor help
Comments (20)Have to agree that wall mounting the tv is probably your best bet. Do you have plaster walls? I can't tell how old the house is from your pictures. Fishing cables through plaster walls can be difficult. However, there are cord covers that you can use to cover the cables on the wall. They can be painted to match the wall color. And if you Google a bit, there are a lot of creative ideas on how to hide all the tv cables out there. I'd do a bit of research first, to get the wall mount that will work best for you, and to figure out the easiest way to hide all the cables. If you don't want a rug, and I don't blame you, those floors are sure pretty, think about doing something else to help "furnish" the room. I could see a large plant on the wall with the tv, or a bookcase for display. I think if you can find something else for that wall, in addition to the tv, it will make the room seem more fully furnished....See MoreHelp with Living Room Layout, New Couches, Decor (everything)
Comments (15)You have two nice features; the fireplace and the brick wall, plus a nice bit of light. Painting those dark blocks outside white will enhance the brightness and look cleaner overall. Then paint your walls that taupe/greige of the mortar on the brick wall. I think that color will work well with the fireplace too. Try two 3-seat sofas and two swivel chairs in a "U" in the middle of the room. The swivel chairs will close the bottom of the "U" and can turn to the fireplace or the piano. Be careful not to buy big puffy oversized seating. Your rug may work fine. Replace it last. I don't see any electrical outlets for lamps, but you need some. A chandelier on a dimmer will work for your ambient lighting, but you need task and accent lamps too. Shop for a piece of art 75% as wide as the piano to go 5" above it....See MoreNeed advice on living room layout and decor
Comments (5)@ Rachel H We've created a layout for you with approximate dimensions from the pictures. So many options for colors that would work with those cushions and that rug! Warm tones of coral/ rust or even mustard would brighten up the room. Once you choose the colors on your chair you could add pillows that reflect those colors. You could place a couple of ottomans that can be moved around wherever required. As @My House says, you could add a slim console table and art/ Mirrours to the long wall by the door and create a nice looking entryway! We have made you another layout here. You can add or replace furniture and move them around to create your own layouts in interactive 3D designs here and also render your own photorealistic images here!...See MoreLiving Room Layout /Decor Help!
Comments (2)Facing sofas will not work. But back to back sofas will. Windows abutting t v only need one panel, stacked back to the left and the other to the right. See pix #2. When you design your fireplace, build the box and bring it out in to the room. See my pix #2. Next you need to center the rug in the room. Remove the cheap looking ceiling light and replace with two, because my thoughts are you need two different seating areas and each area gets it own (matching) chandelier. So, two sofas, four chairs, four ottomans and two coffee tables....See MoreCDR Design, LLC
