Great minds think alike!!?? I was in TJ Maxx today and found a black & white shower curtain of all things that is almost exactly like the Iman sultana lattice (#1). I will drape it on the chair tomorrow and post for opinions. I also picked up some very colorful pillows and will also place & post for opinions :-) Thank you for your help today. More tomorrow :-)

#1 is my favorite also.....and, even though I said "no circles", that pattern is so busy that you are not seeing circles only (so I only sort of violated my own rule!!)

You could also consider doing part of the rocker in solid black (maybe in a faux leather like your ottoman to really make it interesting and give texture). So, maybe just the arms and seat, or just the outback or just the in back, etc.

I do love the two fabric idea...what would your color or mix be? I absolutely LOVE the Mill Valley chairs and wish I knew exactly what fabrics those are-I think they would be a perfect fit!!! I just sent a message to the designer and hope to hear back from him :-)

Here are photos from yesterday's purchases. Also, the buckskin fabric for the ottoman came in yesterday and I just laid it on the floor for the photo. The black & white rocker is nice...but now I am hooked on the Mill Valley fabrics :-)

-I did put in the "colorful" pillows I got yesterday but didn't like any of them except the green zebra. Let me know what you think :-)

cdrdesign: I was thrilled at how much more I liked the green zebra at home than in the store :-) For small yellow pillows...are you thinking for the sofa or for the chairs? Since I have them, I could always downsize the large yellow ones I already have if you like them. They could go lumbar size or 18x18 or 20x20...let me know what you think!!

Pillows: I would do lumbar yellows pillows for the chairs. I think you need a little yellow on the couch also. I would do for the couch either lumbar or something smaller than the green zebra. So, you would end up with 3 different sizes for the couch.

(Lumbar pillows): If possible, I could do two different yellow fabrics: One fabric for two pillows for the chairs and one fabric for two pillows for the sofa. I do already have the below pillow cover x2 that I could trim down either way. Do you like it enough to use it? I do like the yellow slub fabric and have looked at it often off and on but have also come across many other yellows that I am fond of. I will also post some of my picks later.

Chair back (fabric #2): I am still set on the idea of that olive-green color/circle/geo pattern that is on the Mill Valley chairs. I would love to use that fabric to tie in the green zebra pillows. While the Tiddlywinks Charcoal makes a ton of sense...I am just not drawn to it :-)

Nancy. Love both of those fabrics. I think there are many more fabric options for the chair outback than the one Mill Valley Classic Cottage used. The one Nancy posted above left is really nice and echoes the zebra stripe on the couch pillows.

Wow!! The last few fabric posts are outstanding!!! I am now pondering this mix: two 18x18 subtle yellow pillows for the sofa as discussed earlier. I love the warehouse green slub fabric (jooarb) and would like to use it for the back of the rocker. The first fabric Nancy posted (green zebra) for lumbar pillows for the chairs. What are your opinions on this?

couch: add 18 x 18 yellow? What sizes are the pillows currently on the couch?

Possible solution: use blue stripe and yellow on couch (yellow s/b smaller than blue). I think that is all you need for the couch. Since the back is pillow-back, it just looks to pillowy with all of those pillows.

Then, take existing zebra and use then on chairs. I wonder if they would look okay just as they are (not cut down). You can try it.

cdrdesign: While I do like the idea of the blue and yellow pillows on the sofa, the green zebra pillows are too big for the chairs and hide too much of the back (the tufted backs are my favorite!!) and a lumbar pillow would fit the best :-) However....I could crop them down. It just so happens that they are just wide enough to fill out the chairback :-)

I also plan on downsizing the sofa pillows. The blue stripe downsize to approx. 24x24 and the yellows to approx. 20x20 or those respective ratios.

When you get zebra print for the chairs, consider a smaller print, as you will lose a lot of the print if those are cut down.

Okay gals...re-evaluation time. I am considering using a navy/off-white ticking fabric and the yellow pillows for the sofa. I have been studying past (progression) photos today and realized that I really don't like the green zebra pillows on the sofa but do like the blue & yellow combination very much. I have enough leftover ticking fabric from a recent craft project that I would like to use ...opinions? This would also save a lot of $$ from the store-bought (partial) blue stripe sham covers.

We have been discussing using the green zebra pillows in the chairs as lumbar pillows. below is a "mock" photo with the pillow cover just folded over. I like it but I don't at the same time. It has also been discussed to use a different shade of yellow pillow in the chairs as well. I also just mocked up a yellow pillow in the chair and feel a bit indifferent about it. (on the rug is the navy blue ticking fabric-FYI)

The ticking fabric just doesn't seem to have much impact.
The brown zebra sort of adds another color that you don't need.

Conclusion:

Use zebra fabric on chairs(I really like that!
On couch, I would use layered from outside to inside,

yellow pillows (outside and largest)
blue pillows (they could be solid blue) (middle and medium size)
same zebra fabric as on chairs ( interior and smallest in size)

I think it would be a little more unexpected (and fun) to do the lumbar pillows for the chairs in the same material as the back side of the rocker :-)

another thought: since I do not have a third green zebra pillow, I could apply indomom's concept and use the (backside) rocker fabric as the centerpiece pillow for the sofa instead of trying to find a third green zebra pillow...?

working with photo mock-ups this morning, I have found that this print/chartreuse color looks really awesome and the stripes look better than "patterns"! I would like to use it for the back of the rocker and it looks REALLY good with the chairs so I am thinking to apply indomom's suggestion of matching the chair lumbar pillows and the back of the rocker in this fabric. The green zebra pillows are nice but they just don't seem the right color of green to me and I think that is what bothers me. Chartreuse is perfect (as we have all discussed before) because all furniture sits between the yellow rug and the green walls, which is why I think it looks so good in the chairs (the chairs have a completely green background but yellow floor).

The question I have is: .is it too much of the same fabric to use this as a single centered lumbar pillow for the sofa?...or would it bring continuity to the space and be a good addition? my other thought is to use the fabric for the anterior of the rocker as a single lumbar pillow for the sofa (photo #2)?

(if anyone is interested in offering more opinions, I do have a drape color question for my oldest daughter's bedroom posted). :-)

Use green dot fabric from rocker on striped chairs. Use zebra stripe fabric on couch.

I would also use green dot fabric on arms of rocker.

I think you should out a sofa in front of the window and two chairs in front of that on a angle. Also a new area rug and side tables and lamps
