What do you think about my ideas? Your opinions welcomed
Comments (4)I was going to say panels, too. I don't see white being that great with the cream and I think the stainless might fight the wonderful copper...Unless you maybe include some stainless accents in your backsplash, maybe also on your hood, to tie things together. Have you chosen a range? You could go for some color or cream if you went with BlueStar or LaCanche with color choices...Maybe they have copper?...See MoreBacksplash opinions please -- ALL comments welcome!
Comments (32)well it is too dark for me - too close to your cabinet color so it creates a blah look. That said, I do like the slate idea - just think you should go lighter. Take a look at the prairie or desert gold on the link below to get an idea about a lighter shade that would go better with your floor as well. Even the "earth" would be better becuase it mixes some light and some dark http://www.mosaicsource.com/index.asp?Category=36&PageAction=VIEWCATS Here is a link that might be useful: This is the manufacturer - you can find a dealer near you here...See MoreJust Listed- Opinions & Suggestions Welcome
Comments (27)I'm glad to hear she is more local then I thought. You should be fine then. I just went to realtor.com, your open house is not showing there. The people that use realtor.com will not know you are having one. Since she has enhanced listings, she should be able to put the OH up. I saved your house in my CB profile to make it easier to look at for this post. I did get a notification about it being listed but haven't gotten one about the open house. I don't know what good it would do you now but it's Friday and if I was going to open houses, would start planning my weekend. I wouldn't worry about the furniture right now. I would just ask her to take down some of the shots in question. I'll post the photos I like at the end of my post. Tell her you got feedback from "friends", it's what I did with my agent. They were fine with it. Which ones do you think show your house at it's best? If you have a digital camera, retake the bathroom shot, then email it to her. With the tablecloth, it looks like the one I had to also hide our table. Majority said to show the wood, which I did for newer shots. There was nothing wrong with our table, I just don't like the style, it doesn't go with the rest of the house. You're pretty close to 22, there's a Linens & Things by BJ's. If you must cover the table, I would find a different color table cloth. Good luck with the open house. Seeing houses in person is the only way to get the feel of the home. If someone loves your home, they won't care about a blue couch. You are using colors that I use, which are calming in a house. Someone is going to walk in and feel at home. I'll check ebay for the rug. You have enough on your plate right now! Photos: Front - 2nd picture Room with striped chairs - 1st picture as I think it probably shows the couch color the best. I like the table cloth shot but would retake it with a different table cloth. Kitchen - picture 1 Family room off of kitchen - picture 2 Bedrooms - pics are fine Bathroom - new one with new shower curtain Basement - picture 2 Outside - I might just go with the table shot, verses showing the driveway. As a buyer, I would wonder why the table is on the side of the house and not the back. Last set with backyard view - I like the 1st picture....See MoreElevation Thoughts! Opinions/comments welcome!
Comments (53)I know that there is a lot of discussion about the location of laundry rooms. I grew up in a house with the laundry room right next to the kitchen, and that was fairly innovative for the time the house was built in our area where laundries were typically in the basement or in a room near the garage. In my own places I've had to put laundries in two of them, the previous owners used a common laundry facility or the laundromat. I have had three different locations 1) off the master bedroom in a large walk in closet 2) in the kitchen 3) in the basement (currently) In each case location was dictated by where it would fit best. I think there are pros and cons to each. In the house I grew up in, while laundry was done regularly by my mother, when I was little there was a baby sitter who also got paid to iron because everything in my house got ironed at that point. Later there was a cleaning lady who did sheets towels and blankets as a part of her job, and as my mother became increasingly disabled it was good to have the laundry off the kitchen because she literally came downstairs in the morning and did not go upstairs all day long if she was home alone, her mobility was very limited. So off the kitchen was great, she could do laundry next to the two rooms she spent the most time in, the kitchen and the library. (The cleaning lady also set the ironing board up in the library next to the laundry room so she could watch TV while she ironed, which took hours) When I had mine in the master bedroom closet, honestly it was very convenient, but on the other hand things rarely ever got fully put away, because it was all right there, dirty clean, everything. For me it got sort of disorganized, and if I wanted to iron shirts or something, I didn't want to iron in the closet. So I dunno, that location was okay because the laundry was done where it was generated but it became very disorganized for us. In the kitchen, the benefit to this was you had to do it and put it away, and you would rarely do a washer load and then forget to put it in the dryer or to start the dryer. Other than that I did not like it right in the kitchen. Ours will currently stay in the basement because the rest of the house isn't laid out for it to go anywhere else but I don't think it will bother me too much. If I was able to put it anywhere I would probably put it in a separate laundry room near the kitchen if my house was big enough to do so. For us the current convention of having it closest to the bedrooms was not optimal for us in terms of keeping things organized....See MoreUser
