Ha Ha...I love the answer posed to the question someone asked, I’ve never thought of a toilet, sink or even built in cabinetry as a furnishing.

Well 1300 sq ft isn't a tiny house. But it doesn't come with roofing. Might be problematic.

Good news is, the kit is brand new! No used houses here.

Did you notice the walls are 2 3/4" thick"? I actually own a couple of tract homes that were assembled on site....just like these. This one was built/assembled in 1959. They were set on a poured cement slab. This one is 1421 sq feet.

They still sell log cabin kits online too. :0)

My husband explained these to me. He said the walls were prebuilt. They were assembled by several people...like in the old "barn raising" days. You just stood the walls up, attached them together...forming a box.

It's a very OLD concept.....that's still around. Like you said......Sears sold houses. They probably still should. Maybe they'd be expanding their business, instead of closing retail stores.

You can buy a shed and do the same thing, Tuff Shed has a lot of different styles and even a loft one that can be designed into a tiny house. Our neighbors bought a larger sized one to use as a camp on some land they have up north.

As for the roofing, there are regulations in many areas as to the type of roofing which is allowed. In CA fire zones, no wood roofs!

My house is a 2 bedroom 1 bath 2story house and it is 875 sq feet. So that is good size not a tiny house.

Did you know that Menard's (a Midwest chain similar to Lowe's and Home Depot) also sells full size pre-fab houses which include roofing, siding, doors, windows, cabinets, electrical and plumbing fixtures. For example an 1878 sq ft 3 br, 2 ba with basement and 2 car garage is $94,408.14

My entire neighborhood, built in 1941-1948, is of prefab homes that were shipped in by rail. And, my house is just under 1300 sq. ft. I don't think it is tiny!

I am now living in Florida. I miss my Menards.
