Hide-away hanger options?
Comments (6)I hang dry all of my blouses. I've never had an issue with water because the washer spins enough that nothing is dripping wet. If needed, I would throw an old towel on the floor beneath the article of clothing to catch any drips. I put this in a house we built 6 years ago and immediately ordered another one when we moved into this house. We are once again on the move (literally, as we speak - movers will be here at 8am)and you can bet I'll be purchasing another. Let me know how you like it....See MoreMay I please see your closet? Comments (39)Sheesharee, my DH and I are just getting ready to finish the built-in storage in our two closets, which are about the same dimensions as yours. We are doing L-shaped storage, that is, along two walls, so there's enough room to comfortably stand/dress in there. We're doing built-in stacks of shoe/sweater shelves, with double hanging bars on one wall and singles on the other. The empty wall will have hooks for robes, belts, etc. Each closet will also have a rolling laundry hamper we can easily roll down the hall to the washer/dryer area. I carefully planned it all out depending on the measurements of what we each need to store. It will probably end up costing us about $250 in materials by the time we're done. I'll try to post some photos once the main component are installed, and then later (hopefully by next weekend!) when it's all painted and has clothes in it :) We have been living out of piles and remote closets and basement boxes for over a year now since we had to gut this part of the house due to a mold problem and bathroom renovation. It's been so frustrating not knowing where stuff is. I am sooooooooooo looking forward to having nice, organized closets!...See Morea cool 'storage gadget' product (post yours here)
Comments (2)The neatest gadget (and I am stretching my personal definition of the term greatly) is the tote rack storage system someone posted on this forum. The best price was found on Bin Warehouse. It's made of PVC, holds 12 big totes neatly and off the floor. It helped organize the basement in a heartbeat. My grandmother used to have something like your pivoting hook for her dish towels. It was 3 hooks and attached to the wall next to her sink. Great idea. Comments (16)I recently updated our master closet with all matching huggable black hangers and black pants hangers. The closet looks much neater and organized--and less crowded than it did with the plastic tubular hangers. I read about the idea on several staging websites and thought it was extreme (my husband thought it was, too), but an agent told us our master closet looked crowded. We both are thrilled with the update. I moved some of the remaining tubular hangers (one color per room) into the guest rooms. When we move, I'll discard all of those and get huggable hangers for however many guest rooms we end up with in our new home. We have wooden hangers in or coat closet....See Morelinnea56 (zone 5b Chicago)
