A health question - CPAP
Comments (24)Hi Brenda, How nice of you to ask! I had a HIDA scan and it showed that my gallbladder was fine, so that's not causing problems. I've had labs drawn and they are normal. Next is a new ENT on Monday, to find out if I have an inner/middle ear problem. The nausea and dizziness are doing better, but now my ears and sinuses are acting up! I tried my CPAP again a couple days ago and woke up with horrible pressure in my forehead and a headache. So I don't know what the heck's going on. All this might be because of the weirdness that my fibromyalgia causes. But it sure sends me on alot of wild goose chases! I actually found an internet site today that talked about how CPAP can cause problems.......but I don't know if this ENT will agree. I'm hoping I have an infection that can get cleared up, and then I can use my CPAP again. I'd hate to think I have to be tired the rest of my life! I hope its not cancer from the radium treatments I had when I was little. Don't ask me why I had them. It was sort of one of those fad things back then. :( Are you sorry you asked yet? lol! Thanks Brenda!...See MoreWhere do you put the CPAP?
Comments (20)Ken: My personal preference would be for ones that I could use in place of our nightstands since we don't really have room for more furniture. I would also want the CPAPs completely enclosed during the day so I wouldn't have to dust around them all the time. (Call me lazy.) I still like badin's idea about keeping one in a drawer and have thought in terms of a shallow top drawer for odds and ends, a second drawer deep enough for a CPAP, and a third drawer for the rest of the bedside stuff. The CPAP drawers could be pulled out at night and closed during the day and the radio, alarm, and/or lamp could live on top of the stands. We disconnect our hoses and masks in the morning and leave them on the bed to air out during the day, so the only extra hole needed for the drawers would be in the back to put the cord through so it can stay plugged in. I'm keeping an eye on estate sales and Craigslist hoping to find a pair of night stands of the they-don't-make-them-like-this-any-more quality at a reasonable price. ;-)...See MoreUsing CPAPs.....
Comments (31)We've had RO for over 20 yrs under our kitchen sink. Hubby uses RO for his CPap. We do not trust tap water, nor like the taste. Not sure how much water it wastes, but my water bills seem about the same as our neighbors in Florida. When we lived in NY we used it but we had well water and it was nasty. Our undersink RO holds 13 gallons and we use it for drinking and cooking. Some people install full house RO but that would cost a lot of money and I don't feel its necessary. Comments (4)I bought a 2nd hand, 3 drawer night stand. Then I asked my talented brother in law to join together its' middle and bottom drawers... making it just one deep drawer... but leaving the drawer fronts to still look as the 2 original drawers. Then we drilled a hole in the back of the 'one' drawer to run the power cord of the cpap through. I LOVE that I can put the mask and hose in the drawer with the machine and jug of water, then close it up and keep it all 'out of sight (and dust)' anytime I'm not using it. The only time the machine comes out of the drawer is when the filters are cleaned or replaced. When I'm ready to use my cpap all I have to do is open the drawer and get out my mask & hose, then fill up the water tank. I love having it all OUT OF SITE!...See MoreJudy Good
