Trip to Thailand! ID help....
Comments (5)Ok, it seems from several holds that it is indeed a form of "ice cream" aka. "pisang awak", "blue jawa", or "ducasse", wich I am still confused about beeing the same sort(?). It says it will be seedy if polinated (and the ones I brought home has alot of seeds!!) But is there a chance it been polinated by another banana-cultivar/species, or is it probably "true to type"? Comments (8)I think that the ones you have chosen should do well, the only ones I have struggled to get from Thailand have been Hoya darwinii and Hoya dennisii and you don't have those on your list. Hoya hypolasia has thin stems but fairly succulent leaves so it is difficult to tell with that one. When I ordered my Hoya hypolasia it looked terrible but survived, this is not an easy Hoya to grow either because it's picky about moisture and seems to grow slow. It looks like you are ordering from Aleya's Garden? Have you thought about using the padded envelope instead of a box for shipping? You can ship three cuttings in an envelope for much less cost than the box and it works well. I am not positive that the envelope method is available for shipping to Brazil but it's worth looking into. Mike...See MoreHello from Thailand!
Comments (47)mangokush, If you're interested in buying one of those variegated jackfruit I just saw one on eBay from Thailand. You could set up a quarantine area in your backyard. Richard at Excalibur has a variegated jackfruit but its not for sale. Maybe in a few years once he can get some grafts from it.
