Powder Room finished
Comments (24)I don't know if I would put anything on the wall over the toilet, but I would consider perhaps a couple of botanical prints (maybe with some yellow in them) on the long wall opposite the vanity. Your plans for the mirror sound great. I suggested the black trim for the shade so that you didn't have to buy another shade, but a black shade was what I was thinking, too. Looking at the lamp again, tho, I think you might be better to keep the shade white as it is, and just add the trim. The lamp is kind of delicate and airy, and the black shade might feel too heavy....See MoreFinishing touches for powder room
Comments (29)Jodie - I love those sconces! Where are they from? How fun and different?? Maybe I will keep them in mind for the dining room. Just to clarify - the wallpaper in the bedroom photo is a different color than the one we selected. AprilNeverEnds - thank you for all the options! I am not sure on width - what makes sense in this space? I love the modern look of the first one, but I should have mentioned I have 4 year old twins that use this powder room more often than I prefer and their cute little fingerprints would constantly be all over the chrome / mirror vanity. I love the clean looks of all the options you picked. The last option is spooky and definitely in theme with this month ;) We want to stay under $600 if possible because this redo is part of a much larger home transformation so saving pennies where we can. As for why recessed and not a flushmount - I prefer a much more sleek clean look overall and I didn't want too much going on with cool sconces and an overhead light fixture. Also - I struggle to make decisions and didn't want one more thing I had to pick out and coordinate with overall design of powder room. We currently have flushmounts throughout our home hallways and I struggled to find something that would coordinate with out entry foyer. In the end we have decided to convert all of those to simple sleek recessed lights....See MoreLooking for ideas to finish off the powder room
Comments (3)Looks great! You can add a rug to add some personality but not a necessity. However, I would be careful on a slate blue or grey. Just make sure they are not too cool of a color in comparison to all the great warm tones in your flooring and wall color....See MoreHelp putting finishes touches on powder room remodel
Comments (0)Hoping you can help put the finishing touches on the remodel of this powder room. I've posted a before photo along with current photos. The bathroom was in really bad shape. I had a custom floating vanity put in, made of quartz. Moved the faucet to be wall mounted; Moved the lighting from the wall to a ceiling pendant; removed an old, rotting mirror and exchanged it out for this round, modern mirror. Also, had the walls skim coated and re-painted along with new marble flooring put in. Still need to put in new baseboard. My question for you guys is: 1) What do I put above the toilet. I've been considering adding a new, modern, cabinet (black). Would you do a closed, wall cabinet or open shelving? Here is an inspirational photo I found of a wall cabinet that I thought might look great above the toilet. Is it too much? 2) Also, any suggestions to dress up the bland white walls? Picture frames or décor ideas would be greatly appreciated. Before photo: Thanks in advance for your help! :)...See MoreUser
