Individual Pear Tarts

I had company for lunch this week -- this was our dessert -- individual pear tarts.

Mix brown sugar with a bit of ginger (candied would be nice -- I had powdered) and spread that on puff pastry circles. Peel pears, cut in half and slice vertically. Place on top of brown sugar. Brush with butter and bake at 400 for 15 to 20 minutes or until puff pastry is browned. Great served with HEAVY cream. If you can't find heavy cream, whipped would suffice.
