irma, my picture was taken as is without alteration at all. I was at an orchid show and the lighting just happened to be wonderful so I took advantage of it.

Modern art with a bit of whimsy and shock is my favorite, I like it. They should have let it stay.

Irma. Mine also is without any alteration. A lucky shot with just the right sun light in the just right spot.

Weeeeeeeell.....I left the part out about it being on Ute tribal sacred ground. The rock formations are thought to be created by The Gods. They hold a tribal gathering here every summer. I believe no one is allowed to build ANY structure within park boundries, so it was placed illegally. Even the gift shop was built off site.

I also didn't mention they put stickers ALL over it, saying US Olympics & Pikes Peak. They were going to sell little miniature versions at the gift shop. It was tacky when they were done with it. :0)

Some pictures ... as a number of things in life, actually ...

... aren't all that they're cracked up to be, as dad used to say (i.e. claimed, professed, reputed).

But I don't recall Dad having used the expression with regard to pictures: it was just what came to mind when I heard the additional information, as originally I'd thought it to be a worthwhile project.
