Slow Grower or Cut too short?
Comments (3)I have a hardy hib that was in a pot and left out this winter in zone 9a. It only started re-sprouting from the base of the stem this past week and is now 3 in tall. I think they start out slow and grow like crazy. I had this same kind of plant in a zone 4b in the ground and it always came back in May. I have another one in a pot and it hasn't re-sprouted out yet. I'm just guessing that it needs a little more time. Good luck ~SJN...See MoreSometimes life is cut too short
Comments (13)And the good die young.....My mom was a saint and died of lung cancer very young. My dad is a #@&*$# and is full of cancer & has been for 9-10 years and keeps on getting remissions. I think his days are numbered now, his oncologist says if the chemo he's on now doesn't help there is nothing more she can do for him. He's 1/2 through this session and the pet scan last week shows more growth. He still drinks & smokes & chases trashy women & treats his family like dirt. I feel bad that I can't feel sad for him, I know he's very scared now, but he's still being an a--. I provide him with a nice house in Sun City, a car and pay his utilities but he couldn't even be bothered to spend an evening with me, my kids & grandkids when I was in AZ last week. OOPS, I think I got off the subject..........See MoreNew neighbor cut my vines on fence too short....
Comments (6)The vines are not massive and unruly since they are in heavy shade for 45 years or longer. How can the vines not be massive and unruly if they are over 45 years old? I am severely allergic to Carolina jasmine, even though I love the flowers and their fragrance. Not only am I allergic to the flowers, but I am also allergic to the mold that grows on the dead parts of the vines - I cannot go anywhere near those vines without a horrible attack of hay fever. You could easily be wrong about who the inconsiderate party is. If you had a tangerine tree overhanging into my yard, that would be a different story. I used to get tangerines from my neighbors in Venice, and they would get figs from my tree that shaded part of their patio. It's a good thing they liked figs, however, as they can be very messy. I think you are best growing vines on a trellis that is placed in front of your wall, so that the vines do not grow over it. I consider Carolina jasmine a pest, no matter how much I want to love it....See MoreWhat to do if my trellis is too short
