I get a lot of compliments on my color scheme, I have the Bamboo Shoot, White Raisin and Steely Gray throughout my home. They all work great together. newdawn1895 - no, dh would have a heart attack if I wanted to paint the furniture! LOL! It will have to stay as is. As for the chaise, I may try to work with it, when all is done if I still don't like it, I'll move it to another room and get another chair for this spot. As for roman shades - yes, I love them! I found some at Bed Bath Beyond that can be hung on a rod instead of mounted. I am picking them up today! I am getting a textured white shade. Also picking up a white duvet cover. I'll post more pics once I have made a few changes and go from there. Elaine

I don't want to put the bed under the windows because then my bed would be facing the bathroom door. However, I could put it in that orientation further down facing the desk but then it'd still be in corner. While browsing eBay, I impulsively bought this cheap poster. Luckily, Michael's had the exact size for only $20. I most likely won't go to Ikea for another week or 2 (2 hours away) so keep the suggestions coming. Still undecided on the Expedit color now between white, black, or birch. I forgot to mention that I'm a single male (bachelor pad), if that helps.

wow, so many great ideas! I don't even know where to start! I also think that the brown doors are darkening my room (they're so ugly!). I don't really understand the fabric with starch thing...can someone please explain? I will look for decals, both for the walls and doors, and I will also add a lot more lighting to my room. I guess I want my room to look romantic and vintage, but at the same time a little modern. I guess a bit old-fashioned would go better with my furniture, don't you think? I don't want a super vibrant bedroom, but I want it to show life and energy at the same time as being serene and romantic ....do you understand what I'm saying? Another color combo might be light blue and light peach/salmon. Do you think these 2 colors would be appropriate for the type of atmosphere I'm trying to create? I chose them because they are colorful enough to show life and energy, but at the same time they are light colors, delivering the romantic/vintage feel that I want. What do you think?
