Covering Gap between Tiled Wall & Floor in Bathroom

We had porcelain flooring installed in a bathroom and left the wall tile in place. This was a budget conscious update, and the existing wall tile was in perfect condition. The floor guy did a nice job but there are places where there is an uneven, unattractive gap at the bottom of the wall close to the floor. I initially tried filling the gap with sanded caulk that is made to match the grout, and that was sufficient except for several areas where the gap is too wide and uneven. So, plan B. It is a no-brainer to frame out the vanity cabinet with shoe or quarter-round, but I didn't think it would look appropriate to use around the perimeter of the room. Would it be successful to use construction adhesive to attach MDF wall base that closely matches the door and window trim style? Any other ideas would be appreciated.
