PICS! Floors refinished, now I need help decorating
Comments (38)I called Hookset on TUesday and they said they were sold out so it doesn't seem like the online locater is up to date with what's actually in stores. I called the Target in Kansas near my brother and they have it, but it's not on clearance...actually it's more expensive then online! As far as furniture placment, We went through all this already and figured the current set-up is the best. There is a heating unit under the window and we'll lose all storage space by flipping the couch to the other wall. And we discussed flat screen on the wall, but again I need storage, so that wouldn't help the sitution. Our house is very small and this is the only room the kids can play in. The bedrooms are upstairs and even if they were big enough (they aren't) I don't wnat them up there getting into trouble while I'm downstairs cooking dinner. (they're 2 and 3). I work all day so it's nice to be able to interact with them in the living room and be able to run back into the kitchen every few minutes to check on dinner....See MoreNeed help decorating my living room
Comments (3)We agree with @Diana Bier on the suggestion to add curtains which would definitely add to a formal living room setting. @user01 l We've made you a layout (approx dimensions) for a formal living room. You could also add a sectional in this layout if you'd like a seat by the window that would be great for TV viewing. We love the idea of a gallery wall! We have created multiple design options for your space. you can view them all and make your own gallery wall. See this room in a photo-realistic 360 view here and interact with a 3D view. swap it till you like it Happy decorating!!!...See MoreNeed help decorating dining room that’s now open to my kitchen
Comments (27)A round table large enough to seat even 8 people would make it almost impossible to get additional seating in the room. Plus, a 72" round means that people across the table from each other cannot converse because they are simply out of range. (a la banquet tables that usually seat 8). I have included a seating guide go give you an idea. Your idea of two 72"x36" tables has the same liabilities and more if you choose a table with 4 legs at the corners because someone would have to staddle a leg at each "end". https://www.countrysideamishfurniture.com/blog/entry/the-complete-guide-to-dining-table-seating-capacity I heartily agree with suezbell who suggests trying all this out for yourself with graph paper and furniture cut outs that are done to scale....See MoreI'm so stuck!!! Comments (40)Art is very personal - what I like might not appeal to you. Look on-line (Arttwo50.com; icanvas.com; greatbigcanvas.com); usually you can enter some criteria such as Landscapes, Floral, Modern, size, even a major color you want. See what you like, and consider if overall the colors will go with your gray sofa, maybe your console color, etc. I think when you see some, you'll be able to narrow it to a few. The wall behind your sofa can take a large size. Pros on this forum will help you when you have a few you are considering. From the artwork, you can think about colors for pillows and a rug....See Moreamykath
