Oh, that is tragic and upsetting. I know you’ve had a rough year and I am so sorry for all of the losses you’ve experienced. It’s especially hard to accept when someone still has their whole life in front of them. The only reasonable explanation is that she had more important work to do in heaven.

I'm so sorry, so unexpected too. You must be feeling very alone right now. But...you have so much in your life and so much more to look forward to....your first grandson! That is very special! It's been awhile, maybe you'd like to find a new furbaby. So many are looking for homes. You have so much love to give. Your love and affection are needed.

So sorry for what must seem like an impossible situation. Please try to take care of yourself and you might benefit from a support group. When my husband died I joined a group specifically for spouses and it was ongoing--not one with a six week or ten week end time. I really feel like that group became a life line for me. I will be thinking of you.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. Lynn must have been a special woman, to have so many people shocked and saddened by her death.

So sorry you are feeling so blue, It seems worse when everyone is happy due to the season. Your friend was so young.

Thank you every one who posted words of sympathy. It's great;y appreciated. Today I'm feeling a bit better, talking with my friends and family members has helped. Thank you! By the way, if you 'believe" in angels and spirits and signs, I heard from Lyn. A few weeks ago I cleaned out my jewelry box and gave her some costume jewelry, she was very happy for it. Today I walked into my laundry room, and there on the shelf was a single earring I had never seen before. It's gold with two pearls-one for her, one for me. And, yes, I had posted that my grandson is coming, but not for a visit, he will be BORN sometime from January 30 to February 1. Also, my only brother shot himself to death December 19 2012, the 5th anniversary is coming up. I

Just awful, so sorry, sometimes it seems loss just comes in waves. First grandson sounds so exciting.

At the risk of repeating this; when I'm confronted with waves of loss I try to remember 3 to 5 good things about the person every time I remember the loss. It helps me to remember to look at the good in life and celebrate the person better.

Such a series of major losses. May some serendipitous moments of beauty fall your way.

Those little signs are true treasures and a validation that your loved one (or friend) is still with you. I’m glad you received a visit.

After a few shots of pain ... each additional one seems to add more than the usual load of hurt.

Does your friend leave dependents, and do you know whether there may a satisfactory alternate caregiver to give them some stability through this trauma?

What a satisfaction-inducing blessing that you found that unusual and unexpected gift ... I hope that it eases the pressure of this Christmas season.

I'm really sorry to read of how much loss you've had lately. But heartened to know of the impending birth of your grandson.

Thank you everyone, so much. I'm doing better every day, being around my young and growing family helps a lot. Lyn was the sole support of her mother, and I plan to attend the wake and funeral service. I will give her mother a gift certificate to our local grocery store. Makes sense to me, she will need to buy food, etc.
