Help, new refrigerator is too tall to fit under a cabinet!
Comments (9)This is precisely why we stuck with our old, tiny fridge for so long in the old kitchen. I didn't want to cut out the cab above (would have been necesaary to lose several inches for a newer fridge) and lose the storage. Plus, my cabs then were site built so all the uppers on that row were one long piece. I second, or third, the suggestion to check the fridge specs. It might be that the measurement to the top of the hinge is what's holding you up. The body of the fridge could be shorter and fit under your existing cab. The fridge doors where the hinges attach will stick out beyond your upper cab anyway unless the fridge is a built-in unit. Comments (20)The issue with the Asko washer is the controller board. My machine never worked on certain cycles. They replaced it and the replacement machine didn't work on the same cycles. After 8 years of use in a weekend house the controller board broke and could not be replaced. Apart from that I liked the washer. I didn't care for the Asko dryer at all. It was vented. Everything came out constantly wrinkled. The Bosch non-vented dryer had a larger capacity and put the Asko to shame performance wise. One poster here, suburbanmd, bought one of the deluxe Asko sets and returned it due to function issues. Here is a link to the thread which details the problems. You can take/leave free advice, of course. I'm not going to use your machine so for me, it makes no difference which one you decide to buy. Folks make their decisions based on many factors. However, I do have experience as an owner of 3 of the 4 compact major sets. I wouldn't go go Asko again and don't recommend it. Miele is a far better washer & dryer. The Bosch washer doesn't have the true hot washes but the capacity is good and the condenser dryer is excellent. I have no experience with Electrolux compact machines so I cannot comment on those. However, that machine has a heater. And there are posters here who own the machines and like them. IOW other better choices....See MoreIkea doors don't fit under my farm sink
Comments (1)Your best bet is probably to look to a local furniture maker/cabinetmaker/finish carpenter rather than the larger companies. In addition to the the "Find Professionals" function on Houzz, you could try a simple google search or contacting your local chamber of commerce. Many states and localities also have woodworking guilds - if your area has such a thing they could probably recommend a local craftsperson to help you out. Comments (18)Trying to make sense of the drawings. The 2nd rendering shows a gyp board soffit above the upper cabinets/vent enclosure, but I think the actual framing has lowered the ceiling completely instead. The plan layout doesn't appear to match the 2nd rendering. You have "C3s" throughout the house, which are assuming gimbals to accent walls, and they are put on every stinkin wall available, no matter the width, focus, or prominence. I would certainly do the general house lighting different. For the kitchen, I would probably do a 3" can in the kitchen, maybe 2" under the uppers, which IMO is a better aesthetic option than the 4" housings for the style and cabinets you have. That being dependent on what I am assuming in my head from the uncoordinated drawings....See Moreb h
