window sill for window above kitchen sink
Comments (13)Thanks for the posts...I'm going to try the wood windowsill if it works out. My cabinet maker/trim guy just told be tonight that I should be there for install of the window trim because it might not be the look I want. The problem is that my cabinets are supposed to meet right up to the window casement, so I don't know if the sill is going to fit right or not?!?! Hope that makes sense, I guess it may be too wide. I hope it can work as I have decided it is the look I'm after!...See MoreOpinions? Should granite window sill edge match counter?
Comments (5)Sorry, I wasn't crystal clear- wrote before my first cup of coffee. For the greenhouse windows, we are getting granite window sills/stools. My question is, as Casey and tkbalt were able to surmise, should the granite window sills in kitchen match the granite edge of the counter or the wood edge of all the 'other' windows in the house. So far, one each! :>) pcjs- yes, it is very tricky doing the return edges on those wooden stools, and really no one will ever see them unless they press their nose up against the outside wall- but we know they're there- and they sure are pretty!...See MoreDo you have Granite window sill OR wood sill ?
Comments (14)Wood for me, for the same reasons that joanne mentioned - suits our old house. We had wood sills in the old kitchen over the that were quite old and did not have any issues with water damage, moisture, etc. I think it will depend not just on durability but the overall look and feel of your kitchen. old sills new sills Eliz...See MoreGranite on Window Sills-Should it extend to the kitchen nook?
Comments (9)Almost every sill in my 70+ year old house is granite. They don't all match and some are an ugly color too, when I think about it -- but I don't really: I ignore them, they function just fine -- I can't imagine what special care LM Designs is referring to. If you think that you would love the look, and it isn't too much trouble, fine. If you leave them as is, that will be fine also. I think windowsills are something that our eyes tend to skim over -- yours are in somewhat separate spaces so it won't look weird to not change them out....See Moremuskokascp
