Comments (33)I own two Kindles and DH has one. Before the Kindles DH stopped reading much due to the his older eyes. He used to read a lot. Now he enjoys reading again. I still read both paper and Ebooks but now prefer the Ebooks also. At some point eyes tire easily as we age even with reading glasses. Not so with the Kindle. Love my Paperwhite, even in a dark room. I've decided to stop buying books as long as I can get them as Ebooks. Been getting rid of all the old paperbacks around here. Giving a few to friends, donating a few to the library but most are going directly into the recycling bin. Comments (9)I'm sure it does help with the Eye Strain problem. These LED/LCD are bright and hard on the eyes. We really don't notice it much now, but when we first switched from the old CRT Style Monitors and TV's most of us complained about how bright the LCD Screens were. I can see how the Paperwhite screen would be easier on the eyes after a long night of reading. I have an 10.1" Acer Iconia a500 w/Android 4.0 in a Swivel Case and I understand how your arms could get tired holding your iPad Air. My Acer a500 is a very heavy tablet. I recently upgraded to an 8" Acer Iconia W4-820 w/Windows 8.1 and Case (not swivel). Comments (23)Wow--so many good suggestions! I have two Kindle Fires--7" and 8.9", both in cases--and a 7" Nexus Android tablet (no case). A couple of years ago I bought the pyramid cushion Marcopolo described, but it swallowed up my Nexus, so I gave it to my little grandson. it works well with his kid's Kindle. I checked out all your suggestions, and I think I'll a) get a strap like the one Watchmelol recommended, b) get the aluminum stand in Raven's first recommendation, and c) find a throw pillow like Rose's--just the right height. Comments (8)I started to download Calibre (Caliber? Calibri?) but I am totally baffled as to what I trying to do. I think ALL the books I borrow from the library are through OVERDRIVE, and a small bunch of them are not available in the kindle version. So it's still OVERDRIVE but it seems from my very limited understanding that those "books" are accessible by me only via the web so I don't know where to find them to try to move them to my kindle. I saw some guidance about emailing them to the kindle which I think is what I did for the project gutenberg books ( to the email at myname@kindle .com) but I do not know where there other temporarily borrowed books "reside" in the interim. I think I will just be thankful that I can read them at all. I appreciate the suggestions but I think @donna_loomis may be onto something and these are not doable....See More- 8 years ago
