Do you have a Fitbit or other activity tracking device?
Comments (32)I stopped by Best Buy and bought a Fitbit One on Monday evening. I have been painting the exterior of my house, going up and down a ladder for a few hours each day. I wore it yesterday for the first time - logged in over 8,000 steps but got no credit for going up the ladder repeatedly. I guess I'm not going high enough for it to register. And you don't get credit for coming down the stairs - just going up. Still, I think it's great. And now I understand how it could fit in a bra. The thing is about the size of my thumb. The directions for using it are not readily available. It comes with no instructions - it sends you to their website, and even there the instructions are sketchy. I tried to use it as a sleep tracker the first night - got into bed and held down the button for two seconds. What they don't tell you is what the Fitbit is going to do - that two second hold starts a stopwatch. I thought I had done something wrong. I wore it on my ankle last night. It recorded my bathroom trips in the night - LOL....See MoreDo you keep your Kindle busy?
Comments (2)In Canada, I haven't been able to get any of the card and word games to download. I think I would use my iPad more for this anyway. I have about 400 books on my Kindle and am getting mostly free books daily. I use mine for reading purposes almost exclusively. I read daily and no longer read paper books. I'm retired and haven't had to add any PDF's or other work related material. I have gotten my e-mail working and used the Internet to visit my favourite sites but it isn't exactly the best platform to use for this purpose. The 3G on the Kindle 3 will be useful when I travel though for emergencies. I do not put music on mine. We do not have access to the Touch or Fire yet in Canada....See MoreDo you use a streaming device for movies - especially old classics?
Comments (11)I have the basic Roku.. have had it for (probably close to 10?) years and it works fine. That said, when I replace my tv one of these days, I'll update my streaming device also. I prefer Roku to apple tv and amazon fire because it will also stream Acorn.tv and Spotify. Yes, you will need to have a streaming device on each tv. I don't know that you need the super processing power of the ultra for old classic movies which aren't in high definition. I would think you'd be fine with a premier even the model below that. I am not an expert on these things though. I just know that my original Roku is running fine. I am surprised that you found a 4k tv that isn't a smart tv with either Roku or some other proprietary streaming software installed....See MoreHelp me with the new Read Me -- what device do you use?
Comments (20)Pagination is on the bottom of the list when using a desktop/laptop. There are 30 threads per page. Page 1 displays the most recent 30 threads that meet your criteria -- whether via a search or using the filters/tabs (Latest, Featured, Popular, Unanswered -- default is Latest) You can scroll through the thread list using the page #s, the "Next Page" button, or the left-pointing arrows ("<<" and "<"). You can also go directly to a specific page by modifying the URL. First, though, you need to understand how the #s work and how they indicate what a page a particular page is: If you look at the URL and use a bit of arithmetic, you can figure out the page #: Page 1 never has a #: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchbath What's displayed? It depends Subsequent pages have a "/p/##" at the end of the URL. If you divide the ## by 30 and add 1, you can tell what page it is: Page 2: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchbath/p/30 30 / 30 = 1 + 1 = 2 Page 3: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchbath/p/60 60 / 30 = 2 + 1 = 3 The maximum # of pages is 167: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/kitchbath/p/4980 4,980 / 30 = 166 + 1 = 167 So, to go to a particular page, do the reverse: To go to page 50: 50 x 30 = 1,500 - 1 = 1,499 Add "/p/1499" to the end of the URL on the first page and it should take you to page 50. (Or, if you're already on any page other than page 1, change the ## in the URL to 1499.)...See MoreFlamingO in AR
