Too Good to be True Subzero Appliance Pricing?
Comments (1)True - no discounts on new merch. Depends on EXACTLY what it is. If by last years model they mean a current unit that had a build date of 2008, then yes, it most likely is too good TBT. If , on the other hand they simply mean a unit from the previous generation which stopped being produced last year then It is a really good and fair price.............maybe. The 6xx generation is about 15 years old and you could be getting a display model or simply a new in the carton from someones inventory that was built in 2007 or 1997. If it's new in the box , with full warranty , you'll not likely do better....See MoreI knew it was too good to be true
Comments (21)LOL well it'd be nice if they'd make special cords for you for free but I'm pretty sure no place will! Most 220 outlets for dryers are put up off the floor 3-4 feet from what I've seen. Especially in basements it'd be dangerous to have it on the floor level. Even upstairs it'd be a bad idea with toddlers and animals. It's definitely frustrating about 220v appliances not coming with a cord (and this includes stoves) but with the different plugs people would have to change them anyway so might as well not include it and the buyer get the right one. Unfortunately it seems it's not common knowledge to the inexperienced shopper but the 3 times I've bought dryers they have asked me about a cord and told me to make sure I get the right one. (I learned that quickly!) On my previous dryer the cord was really stretched to reach the outlet but my current one it's fine. There's no way a manufacturer can anticipate the needs of everyone. I don't really understand the idea of changing the standard on the plug unless the 4 prong was common in Europe or something. Not sure. One time the delivery/installers gave me a cord for free because they didn't want to take the one off the old dryer, which I guess they're not supposed to do. In the end I'm glad they didn't. There's some rule somewhere about used cords being more "dangerous" and I do see the logic in that. The insulation hardens over time and if there's been issues the plug can be damaged and other potential problems so actually for $10 or so, it's safer to get a new cord and of course always use new hoses on a new washer and change them regularly. It's not worth spending $2k-$3K and then skimp on a few dollars for safety....See MorePricing for RELIABILT doors...too good to be true?
Comments (28)I just bought my 2nd Reliabilt barn door. The first one was easy to install with quality installation materials. Well the 2nd one NOT SO MUCH. What a disappointment. The “plugs” for where there are no studs were horrible. They fell apart, I promise it was professionally installed. There was no board for bracket (it was there for the first door) it turns out it IS it is important. Between purchasing new “plugs” PLUS A BOARD (We chose oak for durability) it was an additional $50+. I am terribly disappointed. I feel you probably don’t really care, however, I am sharing my disappointment. I will not tell my friends to use your product. BTW, this might be the reason Lowe’s has not been selling them🤷♀️, just saying. Donna Hammond...See MoreToo Good to Be True? Viking Range 48"
Comments (24)You are not really stuck, you do not have to buy either of these. Neither has a good reputation. Why restrict yourself to this choice? You would be better off saving for a number of months more and getting exactly what you want and continuing to look for it on sale elsewhere. Also there are quite a number of both ranges for sale used on craigslist. When a high-end appliance consistently shows up for sale on craigslist it's a hint (also they are in the same price range as you are contemplating paying, except that the sellers on craigslist are more likely to be willing to bargain...something to keep in mind as you may be that seller in a year). That being said, if you elect to go with Sears be sure and take photos of the stove before it is transported. About two years ago I purchased a stove from Sears outlet, I took pictures of it in the showroom and then went home and waited for it to be delivered. I was so excited. When they delivered it, it was clear that when they put it on the back of the truck they had made no effort to wrap it up or keep it tied down. It was banged to hell, paint chips, gouges, scratches, you name it it went from one small scratch on the bottom drawer when it left their showroom to absolutely trashed. I rejected the delivery, The delivery guy started to fight me about that but I showed him the photos on my phone and that really intimidated him, it still took five months to get my money back; don't open a Sears credit card for the extra discount. I could not in good conscience do business with them again, which is really sad because my childhood dreams were made of the Sears catalog...my local appliance store is smarter about things like that, they would deliver a completely intact range, but they don't have the best reputation for repairs-they get the repairs done correctly but it reportedly can take weeks for a service call. You need to look into who will be doing the repairs....See Morebeaglesdoitbetter
