Happy Thanksgiving day also to all Canadian Garden Web members and happy Columbus Day to our American friends. We will be having Thanksgiving on Monday at my daughters. My son-in-law, the chef, likes to put on dinner parties, so it will be quite a feed. I am spending the rest of the weekend cleaning up my garden and getting ready for winter. Thanks for the tips Ricky. Cathy and I spent Thanksgiving with her cousin and family and I logged on for about ten minutes, fortuitously seeing this message. We made a V-shaped rack to put in the roasting pan and cooked the bird breast-down, turned it over as you stated, and covered it for the last half hour with a towel and it turned out to be the most moist, tender turkey we've had in quite a while. The trick with cutting the breast off and cross-sectioning it was also very slick...I'm sold, ready to do it again soon. You're the man! PJ We were up on the North Shore yesterday, and boy the ways were breaking. I'm too faint of heart to go out in that water and surf. BTW, yes it is a wild turkey hen. There are a bunch of them over in Refugio County. I shoot them only with my camera! Kathy Yes, Wild Turkey comes in a bottle, but not this one! Carol Ann I'll make sure that Kathy shares with you. And to everyone else, Thanks! The plants are absolutely incredible. I've never seen any place where plants grow like they do here. I've always wanted to visit Hawaii too, but after my kids moved here with the Army, I figured why not go? I booked the tickets back the first part of June, and with a free place to stay, it doesn't cost too much. HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE! Linda

Thank You ladies for your wishes! I have so much to be thankful for. Both of our sons will be home! I haven't seen our oldest son for 6 months. I'm so excited. Our youngest, is just a couple hours away at Purdue but, it will be so great to have them both under our roof for a few days. After the holiday, our oldest will be heading to Miami (he has been in NJ since he graduated from Purdue in May) with his job, so it's kinda bittersweet, plus it's my first Thanksgiving without my Mother.
