Windows Live Mail question

I have Windows Live Mail 2012 on my PC. I have a new laptop and want to put it there also. I understand it is no longer supported. How can I get it on the laptop or can I?

When Program X is no longer supported, that's a big clue that you should switch to something that is supported.

I just learned it was no longer supported. What should I switch to? Would I lose any of my work? Tell me more than you did.

Might try while WLM is open to press F1 key fwiw.. I have username@Hotmail.com If I send mail to my username@Live.com it doesnt get delivered. So I would have to open a brand new account to have the same address & then would have two unique email accounts at two different web address's.

Urlee...I do all that sort of stuff with my Outlook Express also....I have Outlook Express on one computer (and love it) and have Windows Live on the other and it's no fun at all... maybee, I am so sorry and sympathize with you as I felt horrible about WLM as you could tell at the start of this thread. Now I have to confess I like it as well (almost) as I do Outlook Express as I am finding (after learning) I can do the same as I do in OE. There are a few differences just done in a different way.

I have no idea what your needs or abilities are, therefore I would not attempt to tell you what you "should" use. Nor do I know if your "work" (I assume this means old emails you need to save) can be safely imported to a new program. I have made myself satisfied with Thunderbird. It is the only email client I've ever used. But this is not a recommendation. You may need to try more than one program to find what works best for you.

Assume your new laptop has windows 10. Windows 10 has a default mail application in the start menu that will have the same windows live email address already. You can also use windows live online... www.live.com

I'm using OE Classic 2.7 on my Win 10. I think it's a good program and reminds me a lot of the Windows Mail that came with Vista.

I've been using Thunderbird for years ... since it was in the 0.x versions.
