Ideas for inexpensive window treatment for wide window
Comments (7)With that width the most expensive item will be the rod. If she wants to save some $$, she could buy a closet rod from Home Depot and have it cut to length. Then paint, or stain it, add finials on each end and use some rings with clips to hang her curtains. She could use the bracket linked below, and for her curtains buy some sheets from Tues. Morning (or any other discount store) cut to length and use fabric glue to hem, if she doesn't sew, and then hang the sheets using rings with clips. If you catch JCP during a sale she can save even more. Home Depot & BedBath&Beyond also have good prices on rings etc. Also check out: http://www.countrycurtains.com/ Here is a link that might be useful: JCP...See Morewindow treatment question
Comments (33)As a relatively new board member myself, I'm apalled with Chelone's heartless response. I often try to "search" for answers to my questions only to come up with so many unrelated posts, it's not even funny. I work full-time, am a mom to two ADHD kids, and recently completed my MBA degree. I also don't have time to sift through tons of prior posts hoping to possibly find something that is directly related to my question. While a search for a simple topic in a simple situation may be wise, for more complex topics, it's not practical for busy people. I don't think anyone should be obligated to search everything before posting anything. I love this board and value the people here a great deal. In fact, this is my favorite past time at the present moment. It's unfortunate that anyone would be on the receiving end of such a sarcastic, bitter response post. Comments (17)I would go with the pink and green stripe. I think the pattern repeat on the dandelion fabric is too large for the small window treatments you are doing. Full length drapes, yes, but a simple valance or shade, no. I do love the dandelion fabric, tho. Better yet, I would probably make a covered cornice from the striped fabric to mount above each window, then get white wood blinds. More versatile for light and air control, and when you have to redecorate in a couple of years all you have to do is recover the cornice, instead of having to replace the complete window treatment....See MoreWindow Treatment Help
Comments (10)Those arched windows are very popular here, because they add graceful shape to the straight lines and sharp corners in our houses, and because they bring in light without sacrificing privacy. People generally hang curtains, drapes, or whatever over the lower windows, leaving the arched window completely, gloriously undressed to take advantage of the light....See MoreKitch4me
