Are you quilting this weekend? Jan. 18-20
Comments (39)Donna.... we will have to try to set something up with the quilt show.... I'm excited about it... you'll probably be running around like a chicken with its head cut off... I e-mailed Darlene who is the lady who demonstrates the machines on HSN... she lives in Florida and I've talked to her a few times in the past and she's always so kind and sweet.... I told her about the quilt show and she said she is going to try to make it.... it would be so great to meet her! She does clothing more than quilts, but still has an interest... Calliope, you do great work and what a cool idea for a design wall. I'm sure it's nice to have the machine right by a window like that. Jasper is a weird color... I call it cream orange :o) I made the curtains today... have to buy a curtain rod now.... it went well, but they weren't long enough so I had to add fabric to the bottom.... and ask me how many needles I broke on the quarter inch foot.... try three... yes, three in one day... :-/...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Comments (19)I just stopped quilting to check this forum. I'm on Maui right now, and it's the most gorgeous day imaginable. Sunny, breezy and 77. So much better than Minneapolis where it will be -11 tomorrow night. I'm finally working on my Baby Honu quilt. I bought the fabrics and pattern here two years ago. I'm making it for us, so it always gets set aside while I quilt for others. I also brought my bird of paradise wallhanging paper-piecing project. Small projects for a small quilting space. My husband is watching football, what else, so I thought I'd keep him company. Periodically, I go out onto the lanai and just soak up the sun for a few minutes....See MorePost your Tuesday November 14 exercises here
Comments (2)Just raking leaves. The trucks are coming to do the curbside pickup of leaves. It's so much easier just raking them to the curb than the endless bagging. The leaves are hanging on the trees far longer than usual this year because of the extra-ordinarily warm September. Our yard waste pickup and leaf bagging programs are ending next week, and many trees haven't shed their leaves yet....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? Nov. 18-19
Comments (12)Although I've thought about giving a guild a try I'm then reminded that one is supposed to PARTICIPATE! LOL! I would love to have some sewing friends just to hand out with and sew but then I would have to go along with all the projects and I'm not wanting to do anything except what I want to do. So I don't think they would want a big baby like me around. Donna, glad you were able to be around with the water heater going out to shut it down. About a month ago I had the TV on in the sewing room and went out briefly to fix a sandwich. All of a sudden I heard this loud whistling sound coming from there and went in and the picture was out and there was a horrible burning smell coming from the TV. I quickly unplugged it. Something in it fried. Don't know what would have happened if I hadn't been aware of something going on. DH looked at the back of the TV, the manufacturing date was 1998. That's pretty old. I bet the new ones wouldn't go that long. I might do some sewing, I've been having to do some un-sewing on this one because I've been watching the Tudors on Netflix at the same time and not focusing, I had to re-do 3 blocks because I forgot to put in some flying geese units in the middle of the blocks. On the third one I looked at it on the design board after pressing it and said "$&@* - I'm going to have to re-do this" and then noticed there were 2 more the same. I really cussed then....See Moreblfenton
