How do you change your lightbulbs in high ceiling areas?
Comments (25)I'm not quite 5' tall, so MOST ceiling lights are a challenge for me. My thoughts: - Eliminate the problem as much as possible by purchasing those long-life bulbs. - Choose as many wall-sconce type lights as possible. For example, think about your front porch. It's easier for little people like me to reach two sconces placed on either side of the front door . . . rather than reaching a ceiling-mounted light on the porch . . . and the quality of the light is equivalent. - Minimize the lights that are genuinely difficult to change, and use a ladder only when absolutely necessary....See MoreQuery: how many people to change lightbulb
Comments (6)When the lamp failed to work, you assumed that the "bulb" (which actually is a lamp) had failed. And you have assumed that the "new" "bulbs" are good. Without testing by a knowledgeable person, it is not possible to know exactly what has failed in your situation. I have no reason to believe that you are installing the lamp incorrectly....See MoreHow do you store and organize light bulbs?
Comments (36)Get an ornamental screw-hook, screw it into the pantry ceiling, hang a bag on it that holds the light bulbs. Or a couple of bags, with different kinds sorted in each bag That's IF the ceiling is high enough that you won't bang the bags with your head while travelling below. In which case ... the screw goes into a window frame? ole joyful...See MoreProblem with lightbulbs I ordered to brighten up dark space...
Comments (13)"They are way too bright in the dining room chandelier..." Buy a dimmer if the lamp isn't controlled by one. If you know the bulb manufacturer and model, you can often find compatible dimmers on the manufacturer's website. The 1000bulbs.com website also has links to compatible dimmers for many bulbs it sells. If you want to just buy and try a dimmer, I've had recent good luck with the Lutron DVCL-153P. "As soon as I place the final light bulb in either spot, all of the lights go out..." Are the light controlled by a dimmer? If the new bulbs are LED, you must be sure the dimmer supports them....See MoreKD
