I really like up down shades in the bathroom because you can usually leave the bit at the top open at all times for natural light. If you don't like patterns there are endless weave's/colors that would work.

Nshepp, I originally was going with solar shades in the open concept space, but ended up having 3m film applied on those windows and doors. This would protect floors and furniture, as well as, heat in the summer months. You can’t see in during the day, but with lights on at night you can. But we have a lot of privacy anyway. I did go with dark charcoal shades in the bedrooms. I have been very happy with my decision.

Go with Pure White or Simply White These are the Andersen windows and similar colors in your home The white on this house looks similar to a swiss coffee, or more of a softer white. if you want a brighter white:

I’m experiencing the exact same dilemma. What option did you go with? I’m afraid going all black (window and trim) will be too much. I have a combination exterior house, brick and shingles. The shingles are painted dark grey. Do you have pics of the final product?
