Amazon two day shipping

It is apparently 7 days a week. I ordered a few things yesterday evening and Amazon says they will be delivered Monday. Didn't they used to exclude weekends from the two day count?

According to their shipping schedule https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=201728370,

You should get it Wednesday. I ordered something last night, I sure hope it comes Monday!!

I have a fishing line delivery arriving tomorrow, Sunday via UPS Smartpost, which is USPS. I ordered it last evening at 8 PM.

Coming back to add this: it shipped from "stock" items at local Amazon Center in Columbus, OH.

If this is an item you are trying to purchase on Houzz I would recommend asking whichever vendor is selling it if they can ship it sooner. You currently have this posted in community forum on Houzz you won't get much help here.

order a kindle paper white for DD... $40 off., got it for $80. thought it was a good deal and for prime members, instead of picking one free book a month, you were allowed to pick all 6. i did pick 4 out of the 6. and if u ordered one ebook, you got 75% off your next ebook. thought that was good too, will be great for next month's KT book club. did all this last night around 10:00pm... had no problems, saw no dogs :)

Iris, I am in NC and ordered several things the past few days and they all say delivery Mon 24th. I called and inquired about this and was told it was due to Hurricane Florence. They said it may come earlier but do not expect it to. Many roads in and out of NC and SC are packed and/or not driveable so they're not sending trucks through. Hope this helps. Jennilyn

    Amazon shipping company....

Not a universal problem with USPS apparently but in my area it is a big one of packages never arriving, or misdelivered, or arriving days-weeks late, but yet marked either as delivered on time or "unable to deliver because". Some may have to do with package thieves, but there are plenty of stories available of USPS employees found to be falsely marking items as delivered or undeliverable or even ditching the packages entirely in order to meet their daily quotas.

I ordered an item from Walmart recently and paid for standard shipping. I had the item in 23 hours. Mind you, I live in a very rural area. Shocked.

We’ve actually received a couple of things on a Sunday. We were outside working in the yard one day when a car drove up our drive. The driver completely ignored that we were even there, dropped the box off on the porch and left. No UPS or Fedex, just a regular old Joe earning some extra cash I guess.

I think it may depend on what you’re ordering, which warehouse it’s at and so on.

ETA: Amazon really has the delivery thing down to a science, but they push so hard to be the quickest and the best it makes me wonder at what price for the employees. I’ve read some real horrible stories about working there.

The USPS is on our road almost every Sunday. Must be either Amazon or they're the final leg for FedEx.

I've received orders on Sunday also.

For me, 2 day shipping is effectively 3 day shipping. Not Amazon's fault... It sits at UPS in my area overnight.

Our United States Post Office trucks are frequently out on Sundays making deliveries, not mail, but packages.

Lukki, I heard that Amazon is not a good place to work. But they are expanding unbelievably. I actually started to use Jet.com. It's a newer company.

I don't like how Amazon is turning into a monopoly of sorts.

I think Jet.com is part of Walmart. Walmart has two day shipping also on many items. However, they have recently started a bifurcated pricing systen where many items actually cost more if you choose delivery to your home instead of getting the items sent to the store and then picking them up.

I was wrong! My package arrived at 5:15 today!

Amazon rolled out most of the country to seven day a week delivery in early 2015.

Amazon has 4 ways they deliver packages. FedEx, UPs, their own delivery drivers, and the US post office. They will deliver on Sundays, except for the post office. The post office packages are always a day later than promised. I use to have problems with their own drivers, but maybe they got the kinks ironed out and I haven't had trouble with them for a while. When their own drivers deliver the package they take a picture of where they left it. Comes in handy for me. Some leave it by my garage man door and some at my front door.

In my suburban area, Sunday deliveries of Amazon purchases are done by the US Post Office, using the same squarish little trucks as used on regular days to deliver mail.

My neighborhood has a real issue with USPS being the final leg of both Amazon and anything coming via FedEx SmartPost. This issue is that the item will be marked as delivered but in fact it won't be delivered for another 1-3 days (and sometimes never shows up at all).

I ordered two sets of items the same day, both were advertised to arrive Monday. One is now supposed to arrive Tuesday according to the order paperwork, the other arrived today.

The item I ordered from Amazon on Friday evening came today, USPS.

I placed an order today, said it will be here Wednesday. I'll bet it's here Tuesday.

Looks like the Christmas craziness is already starting. UPS delivered something on Friday at 9:30 pm. I am glad Amazon is really quick fixing things. My mail carrier started stuffing everything in the mailbox. I ordered some photo paper from Amazon. They put it in one of these bubble envelopes instead of a box, so all the sheets have creases.

They have a deal with the USPS to deliver on Sunday. I received a package today. But a bigger surprise was the glue gun I ordered on Friday and received the next day.

Jet.com is definitely owned by Walmart and it is going head to head competing with Amazon. Two very large companies.

CNN said Walmart is Amazons main competitor. I have a Walmart Neighborhood Market one mile from my house. I can order things on walmart.com and get free 2 day shipping with no minimum to that store even though its a supermarket. It works out great-there's never a line at customer service-quick in and out (unlike the Super Centers).. Yes, most Amazon things now come in unmarked cars with people in street clothes (no uniform or ID) delivering.

I don't like it when my Amazon delivery comes by private couriers. They tend to stick my packages under the doormat, apparently to hide it.. Like that doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. Plus it's filthy. We complain, the practice stops and then a new guy comes along and does it again.

I don't have a cover over my front door so right next to the door I have a big waterproof like Tupperware box for them to put packages in. I have it labeled that it is for packages. My goodness you can fit 2 bodies in it. Some put the packages in the box and some don't. How much effort does it take to open the lid and throw them in. Yesterday it was poring down rain and luckily I was home and heard the doorbell. There on the porch in the pouring ran was 2 boxes of Christmas gifts I ordered. There were several items that would of been ruined if they got wet.

Apparently it is not just private couriers. Fed ex and UPS do the doormat thing too. Nothing like coming home with hands full having to vault a bulging doormat or stepping out the door right onto a package containing a fragile glass bowl.

    You are welcome to steal.

I ordered something from Amazon last night (Sunday) at 7 pm. I paid for 1 day shipping. I got it this morning (Monday) at 10 am. They're their own delivery service. Wonderful.

Amazon has really ruined online shopping for me with other retailers. A week or two shipping feels so slow now!

Our USPS carriers never wear a uniform or name tag. It's very seldom they come in a car remotely looking like an official one. One of the more regular ones comes with a pickup truck. Hated that in Summer when I expected live plants since we are kind of last ones on the route.

Iris, are you in a rural area? We are, and our USPS driver is a contract carrier. If it doesn’t fit in the black mailbox by the road, we have to go to the post office and pick it up. No uniform and he drives his own vehicle.

i don’t like that new delivery system Amazon is using. I think it’s called Amazon Flex and i have some security concerns. Are these drivers bonded? it’s one thing if your house is visible from the road, but another when it’s not. Our drivers are coming from another part of the county and they aren’t familiar with the area. One order was lost twice. The tracking said it had arrived at their location and was ready to be delivered. No package. A driver in an unmarked car drove around in our driveway and didn’t stop even when my husband tried to flag him down. Amazon apologized and gave me 1 month of free prime which I thought was nice. Good customer service over the phone. I finally got the item on the third try.

Another time we got a phone call at 8:45 on a Sunday night. It was a call from a dispatcher telling us their driver was attempting to make a delivery but couldn’t find our house. We got the package okay, but i’m not comfortable with all these different drivers coming onto our property at all times of the day and night.

I think this ultra fast shipping is new to everyone. There is no reason that one can't have both quality shipping and speed and once the kinks get worked out, hopefully there will be increased quality. Of course, if they truly intend to deliver via drones, I suspect there will be some interesting stories to hear as those glitches get worked out.

I do live in a rural area, but with the development that has been going on in the last 15 years, it's not too far out (it takes me about 6 minutes to get to Target and Publix now). Some of them do have a magnet on the side of the car that says "US mail". It's the time of year again they are sending everything from a huge Teenager with blue streaks in the hair to a 4 foot tall old lady. They do bring both the paper mail and the Amazon packages, so I guess they belong to the USPS.

Chickadee I know what you are saying, and it doesn't seem like a good combination. And looking at things from the point of view of one of these inexperienced delivery people, how could they possibly get anything done on time? My apt. complex has 400 apts on 3 floors, and even I got lost the first week I was here, how could they locate an apartment especially in the evening, in the dark (they deliver until 8) after the complex office is closed?

Maybe I shouldn't say anything because I will jinx myself, but so far I've received everything in good shape, just a little late for a few of them, and Amazon gave me a $10 credit and extended my Amazon membership to compensate for the late shipments.

I would be livid if they set a box on my car.

Have you noticed Amazon using more of these bubble envelopes lately? Not a problem in most cases, but the mailman we currently have stuffs everything into the mailbox he can possibly fit. I have problems sometimes getting stuff out because I can't even get a grip on the package. Not long ago I had to return photo paper for the printer because it got so wrinkled, today it was a book. Since it's for myself a few creases are no big deal, but I would return it if it were intended as a gift. Why don't they use these cardboard sleeves? The mailman probably wouldn't attempt to fold them in half to make it fit.
