Comments (29)It's a picture of a picture, so sorry for the crummy quality & glare. :) I'm partially disabled now so I'm a stay-at-home mom these days, I live in suburban Los Angeles, California with my husband, 9 year old daughter and assorted animals, including a flock o' chickens in the back yard. Part of my childhood growing up with my sisters and brother was spent on a small ranchette in Norco, CA where we had chickens for eggs & meat, turkeys (meat), horses, rabbits, ducks, etc. plus a mixed fruit orchard and a large vegetable garden. Our parents taught us to how to live off the land and how to kill, clean, harvest and can what we raised & grew. I'm trying to pass that knowledge on to my daughter. My hobbies are birds in general and chickens in particular, raising and rehabbing wild birds, growing roses, my '69 Plymouth convertible, gardening & canning, with some writing and drawing tossed in here and there. I'm aiming to put in a raised bed vegetable garden this year to go with my blood orange tree (makes great jelly!) and white nectarine tree (makes great jam!). I just have to make sure the garden is chicken-proof! Good times! :) I've got a chicken info site here: http://jackshenhouse.com/ And my LiveJournal, with more day-to-day stuff, here: http://velvet-sparrow.livejournal.com/ Velvet ~:>...See MoreCarrieB - Philadelphia Kitchen in Progress - Week2
Comments (134)I second blfenton - it's just been a day but so much has happened! Really glad the cabinet situation worked out, and it sounds like the shower wasn't too bad either (no need to remove walls or floor). The new tiles look nice. I also would have voted for the flooring on the lower left (and liked the swirly one too.) Things are really moving along. The kitchen looks great with the drywall up on the ceiling and the light streaming in the door. It's going to be so bright and welcoming! Love the kitties! Their personalities just shine through in your pictures and that great print! Thanks for sharing with us!...See MoreBold Art - Again
Comments (17)Linelle, You can hang it as delivered. The edge is black. We prefer framed art and woodworking is one of my proficient hobbies. It's hard to tell by the picture, but the edge of the painting sets about 3/4" above the frame to give it a 3d effect. Before the frame. When taking a picture for submission, use an excellent camera (iPhone or iPad) works great....See MoreRanunculus, anyone grow these?
Comments (33)We are supposed to cut back and only water on certain days but there are no penalties. I have a very low water use garden. It is why I like spring blooming bulbs so much - Mother Nature waters them for me. I also have Mediterranean climate plants and native wildflowers. This year I have 300 tulips blooming that have not been watered once. In the late spring and summer my front yard looks more like the California hills - fairly brown....See MoreDYH
