Pet of the Week: Meet Taos the Textile Studio Mascot
The toy Pomeranian brings joy to everyone at the office, though he has been known to nap on the job
Meet Taos. He may be little, but he’s a big part of Caroline Cecil Textiles in Los Angeles. Taos has been around as long as the company and loves to hang out in the studio, whether he’s running among the fabric bins and computers, gnawing on an antler chew, playing with his favorite bunny toys or curling up next to some of the company’s pillows.

On the job: Taos is a supermodel in the making. “He has helped out on several photo shoots; he really turns it on for the camera,” Cecil says. “I’ve been shooting Taos since he was little, so he’s used to a camera being aimed at him and all the noises and lights that happen on set. I swear he saves his biggest smiles for when he’s on set and he pulls out all the stops with posing!”

Design preferences: Taos loves to curl up next to Cecil’s palm-printed fabric pillows. He’s also a big fan of his Sleepypod.
Favorite toy: “He is completely obsessed with bunnies,” Cecil says. “We store all of the dog toys in a fabric bin and at the end of every day we put all of the toys away. Every morning Taos digs around in the bin and rounds up all of his bunnies.” It’s not uncommon after a few hours in the office to see that Taos has found every single stuffed bunny and strewn them all over the floor. “It’s so adorable and always gets a laugh from everyone in the studio,” Cecil says.
Favorite place to play: The CCT office. “He feels so comfortable in the office surrounded by fabric, paint chips, computers, foam core boards and plants,” Cecil says.
Favorite workday activity: “I would say that Taos’ day job is chewing on his antler chew toys. He spends hours chewing that thing and absolutely loves it,” Cecil says. “We replaced all of our rawhide chew toys with antlers a few years ago. It’s better for his teeth, and they last longer.”

Break time: Napping is a big favorite. “Taos’ energy is either at 1,000 or zero. He’ll be running around one minute and passed out in his Sleepypod the next,” Cecil says. After a long week of work, Taos loves to go on family walks around his neighborhood with his brother Wilson, a Chihuahua.
Favorite nap spot: Usually his black Sleepypod, but at home he’s been known to lounge on the bed too.

Form of payment: Kisses, treats, a good petting and lavish praise. “He gets a healthy dose of praise every day from everyone he comes in contact with,” Cecil says.

From his owner: “There are a few constants about Taos. He’s always smiling, chipper and talkative. If given a treat he will spin in several circles to show his excitement. Taos has a ton of love to share!”
