Comments (12)Thank you ladies! I don't know why I didn't step back so I could get a pic of all three posts! LOL that was dumb. the biggest hoop has the biggest star.. it barely fits in the hoop. The other two hoops are of slightly different sizes but the stars are the same size. still works, I think! I was thinking of attaching them all together somehow and afixing it to the siding above the garage, permanently! (or hanging from the eaves of garage above the double garage door)...See MoreValentine's Day--what kinda chocolate do you like?
Comments (29)Well some knows how crazy I was over choc cover cherries.Just ask jenni. It would be nothing for me to open a box and have it gone it mins. But When they had to place the stint in my heart I gave up the choc. But when I see it in the stores its hard to not just get me a box and think just one box want hurt me.But I know it would get me started again and I would keep going back getting several boxes. So I have been good and I just let it pass.I do snick in some M&M's now and then. Now this makes me want and I will crave the choc cover cherries. The heart dr said choc or caffine makes my heart race....See MoreHey! It's kinda starting to look like a kitchen! Progress Pics
Comments (35)Newcastle--Yes, I pay the GC's overhead on everything, including cabs. I'm not sure he'll go for me getting my own. Despite tough economic times and a great first few meetings with him this year, he seems to be getting p!ssy about me sourcing my own materials. Why should I pay all the markup when I'm doing all the work to research and find the materials and can order them cheaper than he can get them? Because then he isn't making his $ and won't do my job. I'm not in a great position to be my own GC at this point with the baby, preschooler, busy DH, no experience, etc. Thanks for more info about your guy. Pug--I still think the right gray would look very chic with your cabs. Let us know what you find!...See MoreDifferent Nematode Questions, I think.... (kinda long)
Comments (5)Hi Ken, Thanks for responding, I really appreciate it! I hoped that you would, because in my silly diatribe, I forgot to specify WHY I'd be concerned about planting nem-infested plants in the gardens. Here's why and it shows how much I don't know.... I read a list by a university that specified "host plants" for foliar nems. It included nearly every shade plant I own: Heucheras, Brunnera, echinacea p., garden phlox, ferns, Azaleas and RHODYS!!! (The brunnera looked suspicious, so I tore them out yesterday.) My fear is that if the hostas have nems that maybe they somehow could infest the RHODYS which are about 5+ feet tall now, and I hope to have them get huge along the perimeter of my yard. I have big-leaf and little-leaf rhodys. I would DIE if they contracted nems and perished or "stunted" or whatever. Also, if they (rhodys and azaleas) are carriers of nems, will they infect the hostas so severely that they will suffer and die? I really don't know! And btw, I did not plant echinacea and phlox in the shade gardens!! The birds did!! Thanks!...See More- 8 years ago
