Need ideas for glass table edge protection
Comments (2)Recommend you purchase clear tubing size of chair part hitting the table edge. Cut the tubing to the length that will meet contact with the table. Then cut a straight line down the piece of clear tubing and slip on the chair area. Do this for each chair. Now your table will stay protected and the clear tubing will be hardly noticeable on the chairs. Good luck....See MoreCottage update: live edge coffee and dining tables
Comments (25)Nosoccermom, yes, for the DR table I expect the bark will come off with use. The table maker sprayed it with the same water based finishing as the table top, but the bark is still vulnerable. DH and I may finish the bark in a much stronger product to secure it more. And we should use a table cloth when eating. But regardless, on a table that will be used frequently I'm sure we'll lose some bark. That's okay I guess, the table will still work. ;) Robo, love that chair from Pier1. I never think of Pier1. I had thought I would go with a cheap knock off of the Eames shell, only $65 I think from EQ3 or Structube: But I think I prefer a tall windsor like the marcel. EQ3 sells the Lyla for $179 but I've seen these in person and they seem too small. I think the Marcel is taller. He are the Lylas: I've been keeping an eye on Kijiji for antique Windsors too. I'm a bit wary though, as the antique dining chars I've purchased in the past were a bit fragile for daily use. Just found these online for $179 each, locally made it looks like, but not as elegant as the Marcel. I will definitely head to Pier1 and check them out....See Moredining chairs to pair with live edge table?
Comments (50)Hi! I know this is an old post but I judt came across because we just replaced our dining room table with a live edge one and don’t know what chairs to pair with. Was wondering what you went with. Also I noticed that you have what appears to be a one wall kitchen which is my goal for a kitchen makeover and was wondering how long that wall is from fridge to end. Any help would be great! Comments (7)The logical place to put it would be under the chandelier (after upgrading it severely.) There are charts all over the internet to help determine size and shape for a specific number of people. Google for those and then decide on shape. Tape it on the floor under the chandy with painter's tape to see which one works best in your space. Don't forget you need 38-42" of clearance all around the table for chair scoot and sit space. If you plan for a rug, it should be 38-42" larger than the table yet not run into other furniture. If you entertain larger groups only once or twice a year, you may prefer a drop leaf or extension style table for those occasions....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
