I used to post my journal in the now defunct MSN Groups site. It was nice to be able to post text, pictures, doc and spreadsheet files. I have turned to a computer file for my journal. I share the file but am only able to post text and pictures in our new group home. File sharing is now by requests. The current journal file is prepared in MS Word and MS Publisher. It has 20-22 pages which can be copied and pasted as desired. In preparation I aimed at including anything and everything that a gardener might want a journal. All the standard stuff for planning and records is accompanied with pages for pictures. Any pages found lacking/absent can be edited or created. I use it on the computer but have printed it off as gifts for other gardeners. Each year I simply change the date for the file name. Good details for me for management and planning. Sharing your garden experience on-line is great when you have the format that allows your expression. Keeping a detailed journal is more important for me than sharing it all on-line. Sharinf sites come and go, especially the free ones.

Laura- Thank you for the response! I appreciate your input :) This is similar to another plan...my earlier, smaller plan. Then, I started thinking it would be nice to have more space and a second bedroom or study, on the main floor. However, it's just getting too big and the roof lines are too complicated. And...I'm definitely losing the charm of the original structure. So, I went back to the earlier plan, but with some small changes...that make a big difference. I moved the vestibule 'out' 3 feet, which allows the stairway to be closer to the front door. This gives me more room in the back, for an entry to the kitchen! This is something we didn't have before and it's a big improvement. Also, the fridge is now 'outside' the original kitchen, which creates more counterspace and room for a much bigger window, over the sink. We also have room for a shallow pantry, across from the fridge. The wood stove never really fit into the kitchen...although I think we tried every possible combination. And we also tried a sunroom off the back, but the light is all wrong, as that corner faces west. So, instead...it's a glass/screen porch for sitting out and enjoying the breezes or watching the snow...depending on the season! I did add some furniture...with a little Jotul wood stove against the wall. I also love your radiant heat under the floor idea...but the wood stove will give us a place to cook, when the power goes out. So, maybe both? Here's the plan with the furniture...and I probably need more clearance for the wood stove...but there's plenty of room to accomodate that. And maybe a little corner banquette, too! From Lavender Lass farmhouse pictures From Lavender Lass farmhouse pictures I think this will actually end up more of a room with lots of windows that have screens, than an actual porch...but it does give me space for all the things I wanted in the kitchen and just don't have room for...and a great view, too :) Oh, and the detached garage will be off to the left, with the greenhouse on the front...facing southeast. Much better for the plants and easy access to most of the garden spaces!

Here are some paths and designs that I like... obviously very large gardens, but I think you can take these ideas and place them in a smaller garden... ..in this photo the shingled path is straight but softened with edging plants, and the path is tapered towards to end, which draws the visitor to it, I think... ..the same view 10 days later..... I like the way the blue Geraniums have now been replaced by the pink ones... but the yellows still draw me to the end of the path... ..another garden, another example of how I like to be drawn forward.... the very straight path narrowing in the distance to what appears to be a pair of dark green pillars.. ..but it is in fact a Hop covered archway, the path softened and the gazebo enticing the visitor forward... I like this one very much... and I think could be replicated in a small garden... ..with a grass path, I like to see curves with plantings that hide the view ahead... and absolutely no spillage onto the paths... I don't like to see that with grass... preferring a nice clean sharp edge.. ..with high straight walls, I think it's important to bring the borders outwards towards the centre... but I don't like these island beds here... although they serve a purpose in this particular garden... ..finally, I rather like the way the hedges here have been shaped to invite the visitor to take a turn right or left... it flows and I find it relaxing... and I wouldn't like it if it was sharp... ...hope you found something of interest in those...

Honey also shows price history. You can put on a notification list for lower prices and it tells you if it's the "best deal" on the item. The only thing that makes me mad about Amazon Subscribe & Save is it does not tell you if it's available for less (not S&S) elsewhere on the website. I have 52 subscriptions, so it takes time to go through the next month's delivery to check prices. I hope everyone that uses Amazon use smile.amazon.com so your purchases that are eligible for donation (bottom line, below) can go to your favorite charity or school system when you sign up. My purchases have donated almost $250 to DGS private school (2+ yrs ago). The Amazon app does not generate the donations, so I always order from my laptop or Safari on my cell phone.
