Velvet on a Chair?
Comments (34)Thanks guys! Mabel won't say thank you because she knows she's cute. She will be 11 in May. She is the adored companion (both are fixed!) of BabySaw......our chi-weinie. He thinks she is the Bomb. I put her there so you can see the difference between her red brown and the chair's greyer brown. I found the upholstery guy many years ago when I was looking at decorator fabric in a shop and asked for a recommendation. He used to do it for a living, now he does it as a sideline. He's a flake, but he has always come through for me and is reasonable. Funny thing about the chair. About 8-10 years ago, I got him to give me an estimate while I was getting another chair done. He said $395 (my own fabric) and that included the slight refinish on the woodwork. Well, last year he estimated some dining chairs for me at $50 each. I passed. Last month, knowing people are out of work and scrounging, I called him. He did the chair for $250 (my fabric) and estimated the dining chairs at $30 each. So I may have them done too. Get an estimate. You may be surprised. People want work. Red...See MoreGray sofa with navy velvet chair-will this work?
Comments (7)Patty, I haven't been able to find anything. The chair will be in front of a stenciled wall, so between the rug, stencil, and pillows, I think there will be enough pattern. I'm not against the idea, just haven't found anything. les, I wondering about that since the chair and tv stand will be right next to each other. The walls will be BM white dove. One wall will be stenciled with BM river reflections. At least that's the plan right now. I'm so indecisive about this room; I'm sure you guys can't wait until this room is done :) I'll definately wait until everything is in there before I pain the tv console. I've linked an old thread with pics. the chair will go in the corner by the window. Here is a link that might be useful: family room...See MoreI’m so lost with my oddly shaped space
Comments (22)Oops. The end table appears to be out of stock. I don't know if Overstock gets things back in stock, but here is the link: https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Walnut-Finish-Modern-Chair-Side-End-Table/8182192/product.html?refccid=CNE7GQFJ5DTZZUCNON2FE4MOPE&searchidx=143 Here is a similar one (though quite a bit more pricey) from Crate & Barrel:...See MoreI'm tired of "making-do"....I'm ordering sets of club chairs!
Comments (16)I think the back just needs to be canted just enough and high enough so I can rest my head at least to right above my neck (which is not all that high for me). But that grey velvet chair would not do it because there are no arms. I spend most of the time in a hard chair but my arms are supported then by a table. I can't get comfortable with my arms unsupported....See MoreLana Chu
