Help decorating my entryway

My entryway is somewhat narrow, with the door opening to a wall. I currently have a narrow console table (L:55 1/8 W:15 3/8 H:25 5/8) in front of the door and a small coat rack (mounted, L: 23 1/2 H: 3 1/4)) in the wall that has the sample paint :) you can still see the mounting screws.

I would like to add a big floor mirror (L:37 H: 74 3/4) behind the table, with a lamp and other decorations, but not sure if it should stay in the same wall or if I should move it.

I would also love to add a big poster of a vector map of our city in this part of the house, but unsure where or if it would look too crowded. But right now I think it look very bare.

Hmm. That console across from the door makes for a very cramped entry into your house. If this photo is not distorted, it looks like the door swing barely clears the console. I would consider putting a narrow bench adjacent to the door on the stair wall, rather than a console table. If the bench is open on the bottom, you won't have to worry about blocking the vent. Then maybe hang some coat pegs/hooks above the bench. If you want some visual interest as you come in the door, think about hanging a very narrow shelf on the wall you currently have the console on--no more than 6-8 inches-- at table height with a large piece of colorful artwork above it.

I would have your wall painted, maybe consider some color that would be cohesive with the home to give this space some life. Also artwork on the wall with a patch on it. I would move the existing furniture piece to other wall to cover vent and outlet and add photo frames with family photos and maybe a few succulents. A mirror for the wall that the piece is on currently for good Feng Shui energy flow. Best of luck!!

I agree with moving the table to the top of the stairs; the space seems too small for a table. Not sure what your budget is, but I know you can buy really inexpensive polypropylene runners quite cheaply and I think I'd add one on top of your carpeting...like this: I think it would make all the difference in your entry. scaling off of the first photo I think both of those lack the "beefiness" or size I think the space needs. What else do you plan to put on that wall? Plants? Area rug? I think you need to plan the complete look. Is there a coat closet? A place to put shoes etc? What will be in the adjoined room finish wise?

Hi Daniela, I definitely would not put a floor mirror behind the console table. That will push the table even out even further and it looks like you're limited in space already. Here are some solutions I think would be nice in the entry way. I'm a designer with Ethan Allen and all the pieces I'm showing you are from EA. If you need my help just let me know :)

Thank you everyone. Even if it looks narrow it has enough space to open the door without bumping into the table, the table width is 15 3/8 inches and the hall is 54 inches wide.
As far as artwork on the wall with the patch, I already have the wall-mounted coat rack - could I move the rack to the wall under the stairs? Would that look ok? Maybe add some hanging small mirrors there too? Would that be too much? That wall faces the open family room.
