last modified: 6 years ago

Hello! I am Melinda and use to be on alot! Thought I would help Shirley out this month! Took a hiatus for almost a year! I am not the best hostess, but this will be a fast and easy swap!

First, Thanksgiving is about our blessings and what we are thankful for, like family and friends! So many other things! So you can pick one of these 3 words----

Friends

Family

Thanks

Then just send 6 packs of seeds that start with each letter in the word! Also send a fall or Thanksgiving card! Easy and won't cost much at all! Remember you only need to pick one word! Cards can be homemade or bought!

I would also love for everyone to post some of their blessings and any traditions they have for the holiday!

We will have a game with a winner gift sent!

Sign-ups until the 10th. Will post who sends to who on the 11 th or 12th. Please mail by 18th and post when mailed and received.

So,it should be easy and fun! Enjoy! Most shouldn't have to buy anything!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I received my wonderful package from Margo. The author was Fern Michaels and the book is The Nosy Neighbor. It sounds like exactly my kind of book! I just finished a Fern Michael's book called Christmas at Timberwoods. It's good if anyone is looking for a Christmas suspense story. I have only read a few of her books and not the one Margo sent. I got up with a very sore back today so it sounds like a good day to read. Margo also sent some seeds, a card, a bookmark with information about hummingbirds, a notepad with my initial, a pretty bracelet that she made, and a pop up vase with a greeting card. Thanks so much, Margo! Here's where we are with our swap. Mellen posted and I'm sure her swap will be received soon. hazelnutbunny: Sent (Mellen has received it.) mellen: flowergirl34: Sent (Rose has received it.) smitties: Sent (Jeanne has received it.) sandlapper_rose: Sent (Melissa has received it.) I had lots of fun with this swap and hope all who joined in did as well. Jeanne

Thank you all so much, prayers and thoughts are much appreciated. Still trying to let go of my job. It's getting much easier to forget about it. Today I went to pick up some items in my office turned on my computer and had 175 e-mails. It was a great relief to leave the office and let someone else worry about it. When the short term disability is over I will decide if I am retiring or not.

You can if you want! But if someone does all before you do, then they win. And if they take answers from you they didn't have it may put them on top! Your choice! If you get them all right they will count, but makes it easier for someone else to pick right ones also! Good luck!

That is great Susan! I had hoped it wasn't too hard! I love the saying! Happy Tuesday to all! I have decided to spend the week next week with my son and his family. I will be going to Thanksgiving with them to her family! She is out of school all week! She teaches handicapped children. We are going to movies, go see the Chihuly exhibit at Crystal Bridges! It's a wonderful place but can't wait to see the exhibit! Spend time with my only granddaughter! So I am blessed to have dgt.-in-law like her! I will go visit my daughter and oldest grandson. I will also spend time with my other 2 grandsons and my sister and her family. It will be a good week and keep me from being alone and sad! I hope all if you are with lived ones for the holiday!

mmmmm I posted a comment yesterday eve but I don't see it now??

I saw Chihuly at the desert Botanic Gardens a few years ago and it was beautiful. Love to go see special things with family and create shared memories. They have great Christmas decorations there too. So many nice things in the Phoenix area but I hate the traffic.

I get a lot of pleasure just walking in the mountains here. Jack and I go out most mornings with the dog and it is good and fun for the three of us. I'm thankful to have a partner who enjoys the same things that I like.

Yes, I have to say I am excited to go to the Chihuly exhibition. It's been there for few months and we decided to wait until got cooler and later in the fall! It is wonderful that you have that special someone to share things with.

Is anyone working on the game? I am surprised that it isn't finished by now! I thought it would be easy, but then we all need a challenge!

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Hello Melinda is ready . I had a full day planned. Then a friend has a birthday and called. She wanted to get out of the house. to a casino. {rainy cold day} SO I quick to the store for a cake and Bryers Ice cream. She always has a cake for everyone. She told me a her dad always got the cheap tub of ice cream. I used $20. for 2 hours and won a meat marinating kit . I call that "winning". It is the little things I'm thankful for.

Melinda I have been busy trying to get seeds cleaned and sorted. I brought bags of dry flowers and beans and pods home from the garden in Missouri. It is a job that I really enjoy but it is messy and time consuming.

If the Cardinals are playing as badly as usual today, I'll give the game a whirl.

I mailed on Friday to Shirley. It was a challenge to find seeds to match the letters. Tried to find a few things in town but all the seeds had been replaced by Christmas! Here in AZ I could still be planting lettuce and kale type stuff if I wanted to and could find seeds.

Have a beautiful day and enjoy whatever you are doing.

Here to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Shirley, I hope you are doing a lot better and I hope someone else is cooking dinner for you tomorrow - or perhaps you are going out to eat. That's a big project to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Let us know how you are doing.

I'm starting to feel a bit ahead of the game. I had a package to mail today and bought my Christmas stamps. I've also ordered my calendar with my family photos for next year. I do a lot of Christmas decorating inside and it takes almost 2 weeks to get it all down from the attic, up where I plan, and repack the everyday stuff to get it out of the way so I need to start earlier than I used to --- just not very fast with it any more. My husband likely thinks it's a waste of time, but so many memories tied to all the Christmas things and I really do enjoy having it up.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Good to see you Jeanne! No one will be at my house for Christmas but I will still decorate! My stepdad will be there but he doesn't care one way or the other! There are just too many memories with the decorations not to put up! Won't do all this year but will do the tree and some of the Santa's?

Went and walked through Chilulu last night. It was scattered out through the forest and was breathtaking!

As today is Tjanksgiving, I will post winner on the morning! Wasn't thinking of things ineed to help do today! So time to play or change your answers!! The closest one wind!

Hi girls ended up shopping for rebates and a few deals. Busy. Did get all I wanted. But there is always a sale on something. I put another peony in my garden. Kopper kettle Itoh peony.

I don't know if u remember I got Bartzella Itoh last month. Is this a new series of peony?
the word" happiness" is the stumper. thank you for the win.

Susan-Love your peonies...I fell in love with peonies a long time ago and probably have close to 100. I just wish they bloomed longer. Congratulations on your win...way to go.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my Family yesterday and will be traveling to Ga. tomorrow for a Family Thanksgiving with Eddie's Family. My Family all live close but some of his we only see once a year.

Jeanne-Doing much better..day by day. Haven't really decided if I am returning to work or not. Way to hard at my age to still do two jobs. I will downsize my 2,000 plants a lot next year as well. I love traveling and we have a Company here called adventure travels and all you have to do is pick the trips you want to take, get on the bus and relax. They do all the planning and it is so much fun. They have two mystery trips per year and you don't know where you are going until you get there.

    Hollyhocks (Indian Spring)

Angelica (holy Ghost) this sounds like something I'll really enjoy

    Nasturtium

    Korean Perilla

Sun flower.......... THANKS back to you too

A garden themed 2 year date book was something I needed to help me keep track of activities so another thanks going out to Tammy for that gift.

    E = Echinacea Red
