Comments (14)Lazy Boy is not high end! Any good design shop should be able to source a custom sofa for you for the same price as you were quoted at Lazy Boy. You should expect a sofa to last at least 20 years. You get what you pay for. I love my O'Henry House sofas. Have 2, 7 footers and plan to have them for a very long time. If the fabric becomes worn, I would have them reupholstered. I got a very high grade fabric that should last at least 10 years with normal wear and tear. The key to keeping your sofas in good shape is to vacuum every week and also rotate the cushions at least once a week. With down it is necessary. Everyone that sits on them, can't believe how comfortable they are. Some things are worth saving up for and I believe a good quality sofa is one of these. It is used every day and will receive the most wear and tear of all your furniture pieces....See Moreneed advice as to how to set up this living room, furniture ideas?
Comments (2)Looks like your sectional will work well in the space. The chaise side along the windows will be a perfect spot for a cup of coffee, glass of wine, reading or just an afternoon nap. You could add a pair of comfortable chairs to the side opposite the windows. Swivels would be nice for watching the t.v. or enjoying the fire but could then be turned to face the sectional for conversation as well. Something in a beige or camel leather would be nice. Definitely a cozy area rug. Congratulations on both your new lake home and your retirement!...See MoreNew Home, Need Help On Living Room Furniture & Layout.
Comments (11)There would be enough space on that wall. My concerns were placing the sofa against the windows. Since the windows are very low (Down to about 1' to the ground), a 37" high sofa would block 2 feet of window height. Depending on how far into the room the sofa is, that would take 2' off of 2-4 windows. (The window location in the render is not 100% accurate, but if you look at the picture, it'll likely cover all 4 windows) In addition, those windows go to the backyard, which we would get afternoon & evening sun from. We were concerned about having a lot of glare from the sun if we put the TV opposite of the windows....See MoreI need advice how to place furniture, wall picture in our living room?
Comments (20)To groveraxle: When I said.." there is no other place for piano.." I mean that in our apartment, we don't have any other place to move piano ( den or bedrooms). Only place it is living room. And yes, I will definitely move piano to the other wall, next to the book shelf. See, I have more plans to update the room. I want pain wall some different color, want to strip popcorn ceiling, the bookshelf I want to re make it with more lighter material and not as deep as present and may be add glass doors. Also not sure about carper on the floor, should change it to wood floor? It all project for later but I want to see whole picture for the room and I find it really hard Thanks again for helping =)...See Morebeachhousesuzi
