I don't think it will work with white painted brick.

Our house is white painted brick. If you are going to do white...it will look odd to have taupe windows. Depending on the architecture of your house, you could do black windows. It can look like iron windows and is stunning if done well. We chose white...we didn't want the window frames to stand out.

As far as the trim...what look are you going for? Are you planning a brightly colored door? We knew we'd have stained mahogany doors, so chose a grayish, brownish shingle and painted the wooden shutters SW Black Fox, which is a really really dark brown that reads black from a distance.

I think that the off white / more tonal brick is a more classic look, too - love these pics above!

Nix the white painted brick and find a color which is neutral and closer to the color family of the windows. Photos above are one good direction, but there are other neutral color families which would also work well. Good luck!

That window almost looks yellowish rather than taupe. If you knew the brand and exact color name, perhaps you could google for images that might look good with that window color.

Before you decide the exterior wall color and tell the builder, get several sample bottles of your final choices and brush them on in both a sunny and a shady location, looking and evaluating them when dry. Sample color chips are no way to pick house colors.

That buttery-yellow paint chip can end up looking like school-bus-yellow once it covers a large surface ...

Thank you for all of the advice and pictures! I think the pictures provided are really what I am going for, not necessarily a stark white. Nini804 - do you know where those photos are linked? I'd like to find out what colors they used.

I would say the window color is desert beige (see color swatches above). I need to ask the builder for the exact color.

Would you go with the brown or the black roofing to get the desired look in the pictures posted above?

You need to pick a yellow that is almost white on the chip if you go yellow. Yellow has a much, much stronger perceived color at the same saturation and brightness level than other shades. You learn a lot about that if you pick up watercolor. :)

I wouldn't go taupe for something as long term as windows. White or bronze would be the only colors I would consider.

Sierra white will look strongly yellow in person.

The roofing above is gray. Medium gray.

If you are going for the look in the pictures, note that their roof is a light color. I wouldn't go with the black roof.
