Front door wreath....
Comments (13)I still have my faux evergreen wreath up but it doesn't have anything "Christmas" on it, just some bluish coloured berries. I have spring, summer and fall ones was well. The spring and summer ones are looking kind of faded though and I'm hoping to replace them when I come across a good deal or when I feel "crafty" as that is one thing I actually "made" a few years back. Comments (27)HA!! Get ready Kathleen..you will love what you find at the CTS!! and You too will be saying 'Don't You Just Love A Bargain?'..lol.. I Went back Sunday, and I purchased more round placemats... They have several color selections..I got the green. Also, like I needed it, I got a lovely twig woven Hat, with an apple and berry spray on it for only $4.99. I put it on the inside of my front door. DH said why would you buy it, when you made all those vine wreaths?.. I told him it was too nice to pass up!! LOL sno.. I agree w/kathleen, what a nice project to be working on with that quilt, and such wonderful 'fabric memories'. I did that once with scraps of fabric from dresses I made my DD when she was little...I passed it on to her when she got married. As far as starting several projects going at once..I'm right there with you. I too started this past winter, putting photo albums together of old family photos. My parents had given them to me to hold many years ago, then they never took them back. I took each one out..and some I framed and hung up on the wall going up the stairs. When my MIL saw what I did, she gave me some old photos to add, from my DH's side. The left overs, I'm slowly putting into albums. I had an elderly aunt,(my DF's oldest sister) who came to my house many yrs ago, when I lived in NY, and when she saw the photos on the wall, she me names and told me stories about many I didn't know. I wrote the names on the back so I would remember them, and when I'm gone..my DD or whoever else, would know. I hate when I see photos just thrown away and know one knows who they were....See MoreWreaths and front doors
Comments (36)Oakleyok, The ones that I use are not suction cups - they are the 3M command adhesive strips that are removable by pulling down on the adhesive strip. Mine are white (which are hidden by the wreath.) I buy mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond. The package says they hold 5lbs.each and I usually use 2 of them together, side by side - just for added security. Below is what I buy in the large size - the ones shown are small, but they look just like this only bigger. I am still uncertain - are you using these on the mahogany door or the glass door? If it's the glass door - you might now like seeing the "white" strip from the inside of the door. Here is a link that might be useful: This is small size - I buy large 5Lb. size at BB&B...See MoreNew Door Hangar for Christmas Wreath
Comments (26)While on the subject of battery candles, thought I'd share a great find from The Vermont Country Store. I coveted the clip-on, battery-operated 3" candles, set of 10, for a long time. They can be turned on/off with a remote. Also, brightened, dimmed, flicker or "slow" with the remote. Plus they are on a timer if you choose. I finally bought a set in November. A little pricey, but a gift to myself. I got them not for my xmas tree but to clip on around the rim of my chandelier in the library. There are six medallions on the chandy, so I'll drape holly behind each medallion, then clip a candle onto the holly sprigs. If this all goes as planned I'll be able to operate the candles from standing below. Just now I decided to swap out the Pat Catan 5" candles in my three window wreaths with these new clip ons. Yeah, shorter candles, but the light is brighter. Not my original intention when I first made the wreaths, as I wanted a "warmer" glow, but I'll see how it works out. Sorry if I went OT with your post Martha. ETA: Anglo, it will be also interesting to see how the well the battery life is for the new candles. Will update....See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
