Zero as usual--long, dark driveway in the country.

None here, church festivals didn't happen because of rain. Watching the Astros, Kali and her dad and his fiancée are watching Beetlejuice.

Only 6 p.m. here and none so far. Most years, I don't have any. A few years, I've had one group of a few children. I no longer buy candy, but have my bowl of parking quarters close to the front door if I do get a T-or-T'er.

How many? 2 so far. And one of those only 16 days old so I'm not sure she counted even if she was incredibly cute (and stayed tucked warmly into her car seat in the car, I had to go out for my baby fix) ;0)

DH is still hopeful. It's not quite dark. But I'd be surprised if we have more than 6-12, this isn't a popular street for trick or treating. Kids have to drop down a dark wooded block long street to reach ours, and there are just 3 high school aged children living on it. Below us is a very steep hill without sidewalks and the houses are spaced far apart.

We had 5 or 6 maybe usually don't do it, but son decorated out front, so we had the light on . guess we'll eat the remains!

Another zero here...exactly the same number for the last 25 years. I did buy some Halloween candy for hubby though.

I think next year we'll buy a couple dozen full sized bars (thanks Chi!) and a bag of Sour Patch Kids/Swedish Fish. Those seemed to be the most popular with our Trick or Treaters.

Cindy, I get them at Target for $1 each. It's obviously more expensive than the smaller ones but I get such a kick from their gasps and excitement that it's fun for me. :)

We had about 30 kids this year, not counting the 3 who came twice (as they happily told me!) We shut the outdoor light off at 8 p.m. but had two groups after that. The T&Ters were more spread out time-wise, with some coming before 6 p.m. and others after 8. Usually it's more 6 to 8.

Ours is over now. We had about 86. I bought too much candy. Oh well, I like what I bought. Lots of cute costumes but this guy really made my night. It is the Xavier Musketeers mascot!!! Awesome!!! He was really big and had a little girl, maybe 4 that he was escorting. LOL

We had zero. But the boys dad came wearing a gorilla mask and carrying 2 big pumpkins which him and the boys carved. The boys had a ton of fun than daddy put 20 $ in each pumpkin which of course the boys found in about a minute. than we turned all the lights off sat around the pumpkins with their eerie glowing lights and spent an hour telling spooky made up stories while we all pigged out on candy bars and hot apple cider (chocolate and cider together is awful). The boys spent extra time brushing and flossing while Monster Mash echoed thru the house. It was a great time for all of us . I'm really glad my son did this for the boys tonight.

I was kind of upset that I didn’t get one person. I moved into a 6 story building earlier this year so I figured I should buy lots of candy. Oh well I guess I’ll bring all the candy to work tomorrow

Seven. Kind of sad, because we live in a dense city neighborhood. I think a lot of kids go to church and civic club sponsored events instead. Trunk-or-treat, or that sort of thing.

Two of the trick-or-treaters were family friends. I'll probably end up giving all the left over candy to them any way-- a bit at a time over the coming weeks.

It's 7:30 and only 20ish so far, yikes! Apparently I'm getting a candy reputation as several have said "I told you this is the house!" :) Such good manners, all of them said thank you and happy Halloween!

Well so far it seems like in my new neighborhood that the action happens between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.. maybe we'll get stragglers but so far I haven't seen anybody since about 7:20 p.m.. it's a good way to meet all the new neighbors though :-). All told I think we got around 50 kids. There was a great assortment of costumes some spooky like ghosts and some superheroes like a boy and girl twin superheroes. They were Superboy and Supergirl. Everyone looked very cute and were very polite and said trick or treat. I gave them treats of course no tricks involved.

PS they liked my witch's costume and thought I was a statue because I stood so still.

None, for 15 years

This has been a good year for this neighborhood, we've had about 30 kids - for the first time in 5 years we've been here. It's been fun for DH. Not the numbers that would show at our old address but enough he wasn't completely disappointed.

And some very cute toddlers, almost all the plain M&Ms I buy for that age are gone. He slipped an extra candy bar in a bag and told the little girl to take that one home to her Mom (she was with her dad). She started to leave and then ran back unprompted and hugged his legs ;0)

It is about 8pm and I think we are over 300. Gave a few pieces to adults to keep their energy up. So nice to affirm kids!

108 here. It was exceptionally cold and spitting snow. And we closed up early because DH wanted to go out to eat with friends.

We had a good night. Maybe 30 (last year 4) Man across the road makes a fire in little bbq and sits outside. New neighbors next door had a disco theme with colored lights, mirrored balls, music and carved pumpkins. I put our plastic ghost and plastic pumpkin with lights inside them in the front windows. Nice to have some life and youngsters in the neighborhood again.

We had a few, maybe 20. After waiting 30 minutes with no more kids coming, we shut it down at 8:30 and turned off the lights. It's 30 degrees cooler tonight than last night and we had rain all afternoon. I guess that was why so few. My favorite costumes were the girls that are my back neighbors. They came as a taco for the 10 YO, a burrito for the 4-year-old and mom and dad were hot sauce packets :-)

I'm still feeling headachy and have a bad cough now. Our weather is yoyoing ..yesterday 76, today 51, Thursday we will break a record at 89-90. I almost always get some sort of respiratory infection or upset when the temps swing like that. Going to bed soon.

Heavy rain here and my street is like a deserted street with all the houses empty except for us and my nextdoor neighbors. It's pretty eerie driving through the neighborhood and seeing all the way through all the houses many with doors standing open and deserted. Sad. So zero kids.

I think we are officially done. We had about 30-35, fewer than usual. I have a lot of leftovers! All were polite with the exception of 2 of the teenagers, who took multiple king sized candy without asking if it was ok. It was a large group so maybe they thought I wouldn't notice (I hold out a tray and let them pick). I was going to offer two since they were the last group but I was surprised they would assume they could have multiple. Oh well, at least they said thank you. All in all they were very polite and cute kids!

We also had 2 costumed adults that came trick or treating with what I assume was their caregiver. I thought it was nice how excited they were.

At 8:35 I turned off the light, I had 81. I get less then the other houses on my street, as my house sets on the back of the lot, not at the side walk, so some (10 or20) kids don’t see the house .

I don't know. I was out trick or treating with the grand kids and left DH at home to give out candy. Looking at the candy I would guess under 100 this year. But we expected that since it is a school night. Also many on our street don't participate and leave their lights off.

DD's neighborhood was similar. A lot less people out this year. A lot of people did leave bowls of candy on their porches. Many of those who were home really got into the spirit. They were also way over-generous with the kids. Those sacks got heavy. We and the kids had a great time. The 3 year old got so tuckered out he got grumpy so daddy said he'd have to go home. Instead of throwing a fit about missing out he just asked dad to carry him. LOL Went off to go home riding on daddy's shoulders. He was crashed on the sofa when his sister and mom and I got back about 40 minutes later. The 5 year old is really into Halloween this year. She would have happily walked for another hour had we let her.

I am at Liz house in Tulsa. Gave our 500 glow sticks and more candy than 500 pieces. It was a hoot

Our 5 year old GS is a drama king. Upon returning home, mom told each kid they could have one piece of candy, then bath, story, bed. His reaction was typical for him. "One piece of candy! After all that walking I get one piece of candy?!!" And then the 8 year old chimed in, "if it's so bad for us, why do you let us go out?'

I just laughed, then Nana and I went home. :)

about 20 or so..... a lot for us, usually about 5-10. our houses are not close, many older neighbors who don't give out candy, so street is on the dark side, so kids skip it....

We had approx. 200, but it was cold and windy. Some years we have 400 or so. DH is happy because we have a little candy left over for him. (I was handing out doubles when I realized it was a "slow" year :)

We had 98 including my grandson. It was cold (about 3C with rain) almost all night. I didn't expect half the kids to show up.

Since I live on a long, very dark, private road in the woods and there are no kids in the immediate area, I didn't expect any........none last year. And the entry to my lower level MIL unit is behind the main house down a long ramped walkway, so one doesn't even know it's there unless you've been here before. And no obvious lights!!

So I was very surprised when soon after 7pm a group of 4 very young T&T'ers came to call. Barely beyond the toddler stage!! Sliding glass doors so the dog got all excited (costumes scare him) and they startled the heck out of me because I get NO unexpected visitors!! I managed to restrain the dog and scrape a few treats together but I was more than surprised!! And have to wonder what their parents were thinking, allowing them to wander around in very heavily wooded and dark backyards with no house or porch lights showing...........and where they came from to begin with. It's not like there are no good T&T neighborhoods in my area - just not where I live.

Gosh, were the parents with them? surely. I can see in instances like this, you living where you do (and others also living similar), a group of T&Ts of any age may be cause for a little alarm. I got to thinking, living by myself on a country road, even tho there are neighbors and the road is fairly busy, if costumed people knocked on my door, would I open it to them? Now days with all the terrible news, one has to consider.

None, I live in the country and never get any. Now days, around here, the churches and different places have kids come there and I think that is better. Alyssa did not even come as she had places to go and things to do. I had already given her her treats.

I didn't see them but I certainly hope they were close by! And since my entry doors are glass sliders, I did see what/who was there, but still......... I just can't imagine what would have prompted them to think that there was a source of Halloween candy in all that woodsy darkness :-)) And since my landlady (who lives in the street level portion of the residence) is out of town and her area pitch dark, it makes it all the more surprising.

I recovered from the shock very quickly but poor Chewy was seriously traumatized by the little ghouls and goblins. Had I expected any visitors, I would have put him in my bedroom to avoid terrifying him, as I did when I lived in a more populated area.

I had no idea this might be a sad thread for some. I'm really sorry if it hurt. For instance, Raven, I didn't think about how the flood would've affected this, and how it could be a reminder. I hope it all works out that you get your home done and back on the road fully. But I do mean anyone that was affected. (((hugs to you all!)))

It is sobering to think of neighborhoods still suffering from the floods, probably the bad fires in California, etc. I hope where-ever the kids are, they found a night of happiness.

We had a slow night. About 50 kids, when we bought for up to 150. So much left over candy. Don't know yet who is going to get it, but it cannot stay in this house, DH and I have no will power!

None. As has been the case every year in later years - I looked out the windows and neighbors didn't even have many lights on. In case any come I buy pears - forget hydrogenated, hyper-sweet manufactured candy products.

I have leftover candy too. I’ll take it to work - a community college - and give it to the library, bookstore, counseling center, or tutoring center. College students like candy, too!

H B, we must be in the same area. Ours was postponed to Friday night, too, for the same reason.

I am amazed that most of you counted! Never thought to do that. Our lots are only 50 feet wide, so the houses are close together. There is a party from 5 -6 at the end of the block, and then the kids trick or treat on the way home. We had groups of elementary school kids, little ones with their parents, and a few teenagers. I brought the mini candy, but we told them to take several. They were all well behaved. We sit on the porch with a big bowl of candy. It is fun to see the kids. Some of the parents came up to the house with their kids but many stayed in the street. (Maybe 20 feet away) We are on a dead end street, which makes it safer and popular. Luckily for me, we have an election next Tuesday, so I will take the left over candy there.

I don't count kids, but instead count pieces of candy given out. Taking the excess to the library seems a good idea. Sister said I could freeze it, but even if it's frozen I know I'll binge on it.

We've lived here through 16 Halloweens. We've stayed 'dark' the last ten, after getting between zero and ten children.

Wouldn't you know, last afternoon about five p.m. we had a group of eight small boys with someone's big brother, then a pair of little girls, big enough to be out alone. We had no decorations and no lights inside or out, but it wasn't dark *out* yet, so they didn't realize we weren't 'doing' Halloween. Wah!

Next year I will resume just-in-case-candy mode. Maybe our neighborhood is changing more than I realized. This is an area of houses set back on two to ten acre lots. The street has dim 'gas' lights, spaced far apart. The city allows trick-or-treating from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

DGS and DGD go out from their other grandparents' house. There are mostly 20-foot-frontage lots in the city. LOTS of kids -- local and 'imported'. TONS of candy. Whole new 'pathways' are created, shortest distance between doorsteps.

I always have between 75-100, but this year only had 20 and all high school age. Chatted with other neighbors this morning who were also surprised and saddened at the low turn out. Weather was perfect, so not sure what the reason was. Glad I bought Skittles, hate them, so no temptations there lol

Didn't count them. We handed out candy from one of those gigantic $40 bags and 3/4 of another gigantic bag. First trick or treater at 5:30 and last one at 8:45. Whew!

Zero. Our 3/4 mile driveway is probably the reason. I went to the "Lawn" at the University of Virginia, where hundreds (maybe even thousands) were milling about or lining up and going door to door.
