Help choosing dining chairs

This solid oak MCM table is on the way to replace our old (ugly) counter height table. We have a gray sectional and SW Mindful Gray walls so I'm trying to avoid gray chairs if possible unless a really dark charcoal would look good. We need chairs that are:

A) Very affordable at around $75 each or less (we need 8)

B) Fairly Slim design to seat 10-12 people during holidays, 6 regularly (table extends)

C) Comfortable enough for a meal, but not necessarily to have a conversation for hours

D) Sturdy enough for larger people (all options are rated for at least 250lbs which is plenty)

Thoughts on white vs black vs gray? Other suggestions? We're fine replacing these with nicer ones after a couple of years, but also don't want our guests to collapse them in the meantime. The first two chairs are also available in black, and the last velvety gray chair has legs that are actually metal painted with wood grain finish. Reviews say they look great but not sure it would look close enough next to real oak.

I love the first ones with your table. The dark ones both look a little "conference room" to me. Your space is so pretty, the new items are going to look spectacular.

Check the size of the design on that first fabric as opposed to the size of your seat. Will one design repeat fit on the chair? Or will you be losing part of it?

You have a gorgeous space! It looks like you'd have a bunch of options for adding in some color. You could do any one of these or a combination of them: 1. Add a colorful or single colored rug to the space 2. Add wall art 3. Add chairs in a single color or mix in just a few chairs in a color or have all non-matching color chairs 4. Add some tall plants for greenery by your window 5. Add pops of color as your table decor

Select a fabric that brings out the best in the wood finish so that your chairs don't appear so flat. Additionally, are you adding padding or batting so that there is a slight curve to the top of the seat? Right now the seats appear concave. If they were my chairs I would cover the seats in Raffia Cloth. I like the last one - the table is simple and unfussy, as is the last chair. The third one doesn't go with the table at all, and the first two are too fussy - I wouldn't want to have to dust those or clean them!

I will warn you that the Eames knockoff chairs in white plastic (i.e. choice 1 and 2) will yellow over time. Or at least the cheap ones I purchased did. They were ugly pee yellow in less than 5 years. I would not purchase that style of chair again unless I could afford the real deal from someplace like design within reach or modernica. It was such a waste of money to have bought the cheap ones.

Or maybe pick a color other than white and it might hold up better. Color might be nice anyway. You have a lot of gray going on. I’ve seen them for sale in a nice light blue. Or yellow.

sloedjinn, thanks for sharing your experience with them yellowing over time. We do intend to only use these for a couple of years at most before upgrading but it's still good to know they may yellow (which is unfortunate). We're looking at the Poly + Bark brand Vortex chairs. I really don't like a lot of color... I tried teal chairs in the family room and sent them back because I couldn't handle so much brightness! I could go for an olive green or navy maybe (those aren't actual choices in these chairs though) but nothing bright. I prefer neutral or masculine looking spaces actually.

I didn’t buy the same brand of chairs. Mine were from Amazon, but the price point was the same, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they came out of the same factory in China. Maybe get gray or black so you can pass them on when you upgrade? My white ones ended up so ugly I couldn’t even give them away.

That said, I feel that the chairs were comfortable enough and quite sturdy for the price.

These have nice simple lines that might work with your table.

Do you think if they discolor that you could paint them with spray plastic paint? People seem to do wonderful things with Krylon, even on outdoor plastic furniture?

Love the table. I prefer the last chair because it's the simplest and looks the most comfortable and sturdy. I think the first two choices could look cluttered. When you have eight chairs around the table, with all those legs and support wires, it will look much different than just looking at one chair.

The one with the black seat and wooden legs, the legs are in the same value as the table and the dark makes a statement.
