I just talked with Apple (thank goodness for "Apple Support," see link below). I already had an Apple TV I didn't use (didn't know how to) and they walked me through the steps to view my photos on my TV. Very simple with Apple on the other end of the phone. I went into the storage on my iPhone6 and have about 4.3 GB free. The things I have on are: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Passbook, Backup, Keychain, and Find My iPhone; I have a Flashlight app, but it is not listed, nor are any other apps. I am guessing with your phone that it may simply be saving some settings for your Flashlight app and is not taking up any significant space; and, in any case, if it's backing up the whole app, it isn't taking up much space: my Flashlight app is separate from the one that is built in to the iPhone 6 and it only takes up 26 MB. If you "turnoff and delete," I doubt it will delete the app from the phone, it will just delete the backup. I can't guarantee that, but that's my guess. You could simply do the "turnoff and delete," and re-install the app if it disappeared. Or you could call Apple to see what the deal is. By the way, how much of your 5 GB is now available?

Kidzu, of course I tried that. What I get are a thousand little tiny boxes. When I click on them I get one photo that is so small I can't tell if its worth keeping. It won't enlarge. Plus, each photo is in a separate box so it requires clicking on these tiny boxes one at a time. I have over 1000 photos on my phone and many I do not want on my computer. I tried following the directions from Google. I can't tell what is what. When I plug in the phone a screen comes up full of photos with check marks. I can't tell if I'm looking at the phone or explorer. The only heading on the page is 'photo collection.' Over 1200 photos all containing check marks. If I click 'clear' and try to individually check the photos I want, it still imports all the photos. It states that the photos will be saved in a folder under my name. I'll be dammed if I can find them. I've had it with Win 10. This is ridiculous. Before I could copy what I wanted into the folders I wanted. Now I can't tell if I'm looking at the pics on the phone or on Windows. There is no information. I deleted multiple copies of the same photos and they keep reappearing. The system sucks. I simply want to copy manually what I want to copy and save in the folders I choose. Stupid, dumb and typical Microsoft! Thanks, no reply is necessary. Jane

I have a desktop Windows-based pc, as well as an iPad and iPhone. I can transfer photos from the iPad and iPhone to my computer simply by connecting the iPad and/or iPhone to the computer with a USB cord. Well, to clarify, the end that goes into the iPad and iPhone has a Lightning connector, and the end that connects to the computer has a regular USB connector. Once the device is connected, I get a popup window on my pc saying that a new device has been detected, and asking me what I want to do. I click on the choice to explore files on the device. Then I navigate to the folders with the photos, and do the copy/paste thing (there are several different ways to do that, but you should be familiar with them). I don't do "move" because if anything hiccups (such as a power outage, etc.), I don't want to lose the photos. Once they've been copied to the desired destination, I can delete them from the iPad/iPhone. Easy peasy.
