See, I hear the word "sync" and I automatically go into convulsions. It involves this horrible program on my computer called " iTunes". I have saved pics on my iPad I would like to transfer to my computer. I have pictures om my comuter...like my decorative painting portfolio- I would like to transfer to a SEPARATE folder in the gallery on my iPad, so that when I meet clients, I can show them JUST my portfolio.. I have never managed to achieve this with the iPad and that horrible iTunes. Have tried many times....for whatever reason, only some of the files in the " portfolio" folder on my computer get transferred. With my android phone, I simply hook it up to my computer and drag and drop whatever I want to and from my computer....FULL manual control....no "syncing" nonsense!!! My next tablet will almost certainly be an android....candy crush stopped working long ago on this iPad so I'm not sure what I'm even waiting for at this point.

That was my first thought when I started reading complaints, app developers will be all over it & go 'retro'. Rumor had it on some boards that iOS7, when in beta phase, was being designed to compete with android (never saw an android in action myself, so don't know if it now compares). I'm still going to hold out but the only drawback to that is most app updates are going to be for 7 and if one isn't careful could accidentally update some apps that won't behave on 6. Still hoping Apple listens, this has been the first smart phone that I haven't wanted to pitch out a window at 60 mph (as opposed to my prior blackberrys, which made me go bat crazy sooner or later). I agree with homepro01 regarding Geek Squad. Years ago Best Buy had a really good computer repair department. However, with the establishment of the Geek Squad, all of their good repairmen were left without a job at Best Geek Squad employees are barely knowledgeable. Don't take a good computer to them. Don't even take a bad computer to them. Sheeisback, Apple does occasionally have a virus; but few and far between. My granddaughters have had Apple laptops and iPhones for years and have never had a virus. I finally just got a MacBook Pro laptop. The main reason is the practically virus-free aspect. I have lost everything on Window computers three times due to viruses and decided No More. So, I am learning the Apple, too. I am also keeping my Windows 10 desktop, but will put all of my important stuff on the Apple. Also plan on purchasing an external drive for the Apple to put items on. That way if there is a virus and the external drive is not connected, material will not be lost. I do have an external drive for my desktop, but when this last virus hit, it was connected via USB, so the virus hit the external drive, too. Learned a valuable lesson. DYH, I dont have an opinion on the Apple Watch but hope you don’t mind if I respond to Nini, about my Garmin Watch. Last year, the band on my old Garmin Foreunner 110, which I only used for running, broke. Because of the design, the band is actually part of the watch so I couldn’t just order a new band. I looked online and the replacement was something like $50! What?! The watch was fairly old so didn’t seem worth it to pay $50 for a band at that point. So I called and they said they could replace it for $25 but I still had to send the whole thing in. Before I got around to doing that, dh surprised me with a new one. While not an Apple Watch (I actually get asked that about my Garmin all the time), it does receive text messages and phone calls. I’m sure it does a few other things but that’s all Ive found convenient. I do wear it 90% of the time because I rarely get dressed up and I like all the exercise features. I use it for running but also like to see how many steps I take, how much I’m sleeping, etc. The nice thing about having it synced with my phone is that if my phone is in my purse or elsewhere in the house, etc, I know right away if someone is texting or calling me. If I’m talking with someone, I can discreetly look at my watch to see who it is and make a mental note to call or text later. It definitely doesn’t have all the features of an Apple Watch, and honestly I don’t need that. But if you aren’t keen on replacing yours (I would be annoyed too!), maybe look at the Garmin. Mine is the Forerunner 35.
