I-pad mini seems locked up.
Comments (1)I probably just solved my own problem. I searched on 'How to reset a hung Ipad' and found the link below. It WAS probably hung since the first technique didn't work. The second was a full reboot done by holding the power button and the 'home' button until the Apple Logo appears. I have now set it to hopefully backup. Here is a link that might be useful: resetting routines...See MoreiPad Air 2?
Comments (12)Thank you all for the input. I can't really tell the difference between the iPad Air and the iPad Air 2 but I want 128GB and it's only available on the Air2. Marlene the global positioning causes the iPad to right itself. You can lock it so it doesn't turn by going into settings. Go to general on the left side and put a check behind lock rotation. This will enable you to use the slider switch on the edge of the right side to lock it so it doesn't do that. You can also turn the cellular data off in settings. Click on the left side where it says cellular. Then the top right will say cellular and if it's enabled the slide switch is green. If you slide the switch to the left it will turn off the cellular. You will still be able to use wifi but the cellular data (the data that you pay for) will be turned off. If you want to turn it back on just slide the switch to the right. Marlene, don't feel challenged as there is a definite learning curve. The fact that you have one is great. If you bought it from the Apple Store they have a great tech staff and I think they have classes. Another thing you can do if you can't figure something out is to go to google and type you question in i.e. what do I do if my iPad freezes? You will usually find a step by step process that will help you. I discovered this as I had an text that had a Christmas surprise that I didn't want anyone to see so I googled how do I delete a text message on my iPhone. I followed the directions and voila the text was gone!...See MoreI-Pad Backup Help or Need?
Comments (13)I was here pk. I guess I should have let you know that the backup was specifically asking for the apple id password. I only brought up email because I found no contacts (but I also pointed out that I hadn't tried to link emails in any way). I also now see that there is an off setting on a 'settings' button for email. I am not sure how she sees her mail. Probably directly via Safari but I do see an email app right on her first page trey below the regular apps. Probably way more info than needed since this was not really an email question. Looking back, I now see that I wasn't clear about what password was wanted; sorry. My general question was about the whole purpose of this kind of backup. It appeared (and still does) that she may not have had anything to backup because she didn't really use itunes for paid music (and yesterday I saw something that implied it didn't do that either, I suppose because apple really only has pointers to the music and always remembers your apple id with those pointers). I was more concerned that perhaps each system update might wipe all apps and perhaps other stuff. As far as I can tell, it certainly didn't wipe all apps out (she still has some), and I see no reason it would clear specific ones. I was waiting for another response and to see if I got a backup. I can't really tell because it doesn't say so. It was not asking to be backed up yesterday (or today) and I can't find where it is indicated. The new update changed stuff on icloud and wanted new legal acceptance (i gave it) but that was after I attempted the backup. BTW I actually read a little of the legal stuff and it included that icloud could wipe your backup if you didn't backup for 120 days!!! Anyway, I still don't really understand the purpose of this backup system. While attempting to follow various directions, I got messages that suggest if there are problems (I don't think there actually were) that I should Reset the ipad. I am suspecting that perhaps that is exactly when the backup would be needed because the Reset Would wipe everything back to a new pad. Not sure of that either....See MoreHelp, Please with Apple Mini iPad
Comments (5)Thanks once again. The app is not just a grocery app, it is a list app. I have multiple lists in the app. For example, itineraries, packing lists for various climates, wonderful, thorough lists for both spirits and wine, gifts, sizes of various people, makeup, books to read, movies to watch, wineries to visit, a variety of stores (both grocery and clothing), Thanksgiving timelines for getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner and one for Christmas and one for New Year's, to-do lists, over-the-counter medications, prescription medications and numbers info, recipes, etc. You get the picture. This is a wonderful resource and I have looked over the years trying to find one that is as productive as it, but to no avail. The company has just recently promised to update the app to the iOs 11. I hope the wait is not too long. And their faithful users have been begging them for months to please get this updated. The company has other apps that I guess are more profitable to them, so they have been concentrating on those. I think the outcry has been so genuine about this failure that the company has become embarrassed to the point of agreeing to update. I have used the app since the Palm was the thing. They used to update all the time, but then something changed. Hope they are getting back on the right, correct track now. I do appreciate the support of all of you....See MoreLyban zone 4
