For the overall here[it's a social floor plan-casual] I'd do a U kitchen-sink wall is the middle of the U. Reason is that people migrating in from deck and from family and dining area can use the right arm of the U as a peninsula with stools. Great spot for seating. You'd still be able to have 8 feet width inside the U it appears. Place fridge on lower wall backing up to closets...sink and range inside U-sink about where it is,maybe center the windowscape and range on wall that backs up to corridor over to the left. The island as you have it isn't desirable to me. the range on the left wall means at the peninsula you can do something more visually appealing with pendant lights/back side with panels or whatever to work with some stools and also have just a little separation from the cook's part of kitchen. this will be appreciated I think especially if the dining zone is the only one you are planning. Activities at the range with lots of counter around it will be a little more removed from the middle extremely open part of kitchen where you are suggesting it. You could plumb a small 2nd sink down on lower wall with fridge-perks to that as well.....stylish little zone with added pendant light carrying the theme from peninsula.

I'm glad you decided to swap range and sink and put the prep sink towards the fridge end of the island. This way the long side of the island will be facing the range and gives you lots of prep space, and the cleanup zone will be nicely separated from the prep zone. I have a layout very similar to this and it works quite well. With regards to extending the cabinetry into the kitchen table/breakfast area, that all depends on the layout - overall dimensions, placement of doors and windows, etc. If you have the space I might consider some hutchlike cabinetry - uppers down to the counter, glass or mirrored doors on top, etc. I'm not sure I would attach it to the kitchen cabinetry and would instead make it a separate built-in or freestanding piece. But again, it all depends on what you have to work with. Can you post the layout of that area and/or the whole house layout?

this is the only "major" change we want to make (*aka move cabinets around.) We are happy with the builder just want to redesign the kitchen. Originally we were fine with the pantry but want to maximize our budget aka look at alternatives (aka if we can make the change great if not we are not crazy worried .) And ty for everyones points its beyond helpful. we can't find anything even close in our market for this amount. (been looking for a long time now) plus we love the lot and the neighborhood (small city)

Nice kitchen, Not ugly at all ... but a bit dark. On a budget, would not add tile now; instead rip off the old but repair/smooth the wall and paint all but the 4"-6" above the countertop as backsplash, which you could tile to coordinate with the countertop. Another exception to the painted wall might be the stove niche -- you could add a stainless steel panel the width of the stove, beginning just below stove top level and covering all the visible wall above the stove top. You could always add a hood to that later. Like the stove niche suggestion of Hannah Wolfson except would want a stainless steel panel above the stove and would want the electrical wiring for the lights to stay to connect a stove hood later ... so keep lights for now even if you don't add the hood now. Would create at least a countertop level with the top of the stove on each side of the stove. What you put beneath that would depend upon what that white unit left of the stove might be; however, if that white unit is something movable, create a pair of free standing base cabinets with countertops the same height as the stove top. Your kitchen windows do not have brown trim so ... if you want white trim around all your windows and doors and doorway openings, consider scrubbing all the brown trim throughout the house really well before painting them white.
