Need ideas for doors for laundry area
My father-in-law needed to move his washer/dryer upstairs in his house. Our best idea was to extend a small room into garage by kitchen area. We think that it is going to work great for his needs. We are unsure what kind of doors to cover the area. His kitchen is rather small but has beautiful cherry cabinets. He thought about having doors made to match cabinets, but then worried about the door next to the washer which is just a basic door with a dark brown stain. He is open to color and likes dark green. He also wants to add upper cabinets in the laundry area. We would love ideas for the doors/cabinets of this laundry area?

This way, you don't lose any of the window when the drapes are open, but you can draw them back as far or as little as you wish. You can also install a cornice over the whole thing. Comments (2)Hmm. the first thing I notice is two doors opening into each other at the garage entrance. Frankly Im a bit confused on the whole layout 1. do you really need two dining room areas? 2. do you really need two bathrooms on the main floor? 3. is the entrance to the mudroom only through the garage? 4. you have teenage boys but a playroom? why is that not the workout/office? I would be using that dining space as the office workout room having the workout room where everybody has to passthrough to the to the house is going to be annoying. and also doesn't give you any privacy....See More

if you don’t want to spend a lot - choose regular wood door and hang them as bi-fold.
if you want something nice and durable ask for custom modern doors. Here are photos what we made for laundry closet in comparable sizes as yours. I do not say that this frosted glass design will work good for your classic kitchen interior, but just the idea. Instead of glass you can choose says laminate panels that are similar to your kitchen cabinets.

6 years agoMy father-in-law (age 85) is amazed that all of you took the time to comment on his laundry room doors. Thank you very much. I think we are leaning towards doors with a wooden frame to match the cabinets with etched glass inserts that would match the wall color. Similar to this photo I found online.
