I recently bought two UNIGLO jackets and I love them. They are really soft, light, fitted which I like, and not expensive. One is navy and the other is brown. I live in Seattle so I wear layers. Highly recommend.

Yesterday I was at the salon and I saw this purse (my salon has such cute merch). I liked it then I thought, ... that would really work better for SueB. I see it as a jeans-and-boots look. Slightly hippy/craftsman/earthy.

I have bought a few bags from my salon -- i really like the buyer's tastes -- and while they are not fine quality they wear well and I get compliments on them. I have no idea if they were UE.

My shopping has been most centered on outfits for this weekend's wedding festivities (and then in a few weeks a reception for the niece who eloped 2 weekends ago!).. after months of the ordering/returning cycle, in the last week I ended up with 8-10 options. In the end, I think I am going to wear a suit I already had (shaking my head).

Still, I did pick up a few things for fall-- oh, and I am also in the 2x range (plus or minus depending on style, brand)..

Just ordered this in both the ivory and the color block style from Talbots. I wasn't all that pleased with their offerings this season until the added this new style. I won't likely keep both.. I really like the color block -- but not so much the way she's wearing it.

Allison-I bought that plaid top from Garnet Hill! I have purchased a bunch of clothes this fall, almost all online. I rarely go to the mall, but had to return something and decided to pop into J. Jill. I ended up buying a pair of ankle jeans that I really like. Jeans are hard for me to find, and I was pleasantly surprised with these.

I ordered these three booties from Zappo's yesterday-I hope one of them works. I live in a warm climate, so will be able to wear this style all winter.

I like the blanket scarves, but not the colors shown above (for me).And Texanjana - LOVE peep toe booties. Booties are way too hot for me, so I only do booties/shooties.

Alison, I bought that quilted coat from Garnet Hill and it ran very large on me. I looked like a little girl wearing her mother's coat so back it went. I get frustrated with the return shipping! but shop almost exclusively online. Got a dress for my brother's wedding...a wine colored lace with 3/4 length sleeves. Fairly flattering fit and flare style. I'm happy with it. I like some of the soft surrounding things...have purchased before because they are unique and usually well made. I am a preschool teacher though, so too expensive to wear to work!

Tina.. the wrap is from Nordstrom. I like both styles too. My blanket wraps are almost all black and ivory (is that a surprise? lol) but with scarves, I am especially great with color. I'd love an orange one.. but the reds and blues, not so much.

This design may appeal to you, Tina.. I got this one at Bloomingdales. It's fairly light weight (though wool) and very very soft.

I saw two sweaters at Macy's on a day when it was about 100 degrees, they had literally just been put out and I had been on the hunt for a cardigan like this for ages. I snapped it up. I bought it because I knew if I waited till sweater season they wouldn't have them in stock any more. Sure enough-the cardigan is on sale on-line, but it's no longer in the stores. The other sweater I bought that day is a deep rusty red one that isn't even on their website. I'm good on fall clothing-I spent a bundle this spring/summer buying that season clothes because I literally had nothing decent to wear!

I love this time of the year, I get to wear my sweaters, dusters, jackets, scarves and chunkier jewelry. I'm going to pair this cardigan with a flannel, layered with a tee, jeans and some chukker type boots. And some chunky turquoise necklaces.

I need to pick up some sweaters but haven't really seen anything that moves me yet. I have a floor to ceiling window next to my desk at work so it can get pretty cold. I think wraps are going to be my friends this fall/winter.

So yesterday I broke free from the required errands as I mentioned above and went to a few of our local boutiques. I love that kind of shopping as all the shops in town are owned by women my age who are cool and spirited and I love spending my money with them vs mall stores.

Here's the necklace I bought, it's by riverstones (who will soon be carried by Sundance). I also bought a ring and shorter neckace to layer with it. The pictures don't do the color justice. They're so vivid that we had a hard time finding something else to layer with because even other fine jewelry didn't stand up to it. The larger stone is a ruby but it's fuchsia not red. The other stones are Peruvian opals, turquoise, aventurine, coral and I don't know what else. It definitely leans tiffany blue/robins egg blue (they pulled it for me because it matches my tiffany glasses)

It's just what they'd expect from Crazy Aunt Beth!

wwbungalow, I keep meaning to comment about your uniqlo jackets. I have the Northface version which I LOVE but it isn't very stylish. Thanks for sharing the info about the coats. I live in Denver so I usually stick with outdoor brands because I never can tell which coats have good insulation and I hate being cold. Your uniqlos look stylish and light and warm. Sounds good to me!

CindyMac, I returned a sweater (which they still carry) after about a year due to pilling. I only received a portion of what I originally paid for it which didn't make me happy because, IMHO, it shouldn't have pilled. That's the only bad experience I've had but I've only made a handful of purchases from SS's.

SueB, Mtn, and anyone else who liked the purse that Mtn. posted above(on Oct. 20)--get thee to a Marshall's! I picked up the same bag this morning, in a mushroom color, same brand, etc., for $29.99. I wasn't even looking for a purse, but walked by, and could not resist for the price! I am unable to post a picture of it for some reason, but it is the identical vegan bag, with the grommets, etc.

I don't usually pay much attention to the clothes, but I was hanging stuff yesterday and saw the cutest pear green velvet Talbots blazer. I kept thinking about it so before I left I bought it. Six dollars! Dropped it at the dry cleaner today, can't wait to wear it!

Like someone upthread, I recently retired and have been purging, purging, purging. But repeated emails from Chicos finally broke me down and I bought this silky/suede shirt in olive. I love it. Very soft and smooth and the color matches my eyes. I wore it with black slacks, and I think I'll wear it with jeans too, like the model.

I've bought a few things from Chicos now and I think it's my new favorite online store. After I finally got the hang of their funky sizing.
