I've bought all too many plants! I'm currently jobless and bored, so I spend my time reading about and getting into new genera, it seems. So far this month I've bought:

+ Aeschynanthus "marmoratus". Not sure if this is 'Black Pagoda' or A. longicaulis, but it sure is pretty.

+ Agave lophanta 'Quadricolor'. eBay.

+ Asplenium sp. 'Crispy Wave'.
+ Asplenium nidus or australasicum. Small plant.

+ Brighamia insignis 'Kirsten'. Two plants which are currently shedding leaves like it's a sport.

+ Chlorophytum amaniense 'Fire Flash'. Thai seeds that *should* make it through customs.

+ Dorstenia zanzibarica. eBay.

+ Hatiora X. White-flowered easter cactus for $1.
+ Hatiora rosea riograndense. Cuttings ordered online.
+ Rhipsalidopsis "epihyllioides". Likewise. Might be Rhipsalis dissimilis f. epiphyllanthoides.
+ Rhipsalis sp. noID. A big plant got cheap that could be R. campos-portoana.

+ Hibiscus, orange flower. Doubt I can keep this, but I decided to give it a try.

+ Hoya cumingiana. Ailing plant, but I got a cut in the price.
+ Hoya curtisii. Rooted cuttings.
+ Hoya obscura. Rooted cuttings.
+ Hoya pauciflora. Rooted cuttings.
+ Hoya retusa. Rooted cutting.
+ Hoya serpens. Another ailing plant but with peduncles and buds. Cheap.
+ Hoya wayetii. Rooted cuttings.

Some I've not received yet, but when I do, I'll definitely be close to my limit. Well, maybe I'll find room for a single Adenium obesum; I want to try the whole raising of roots thing and my seedlings are a long way from being ready for that.

I haven't bought too many this month but I went nuts in Feb and March. 14 new ones in Feb alone. But as far as April and May goes, I've been getting really into cacti and a few succulents.

Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri (Easter Cactus) - From Wal-Mart in pretty bad condition, and it wasn't even marked down, but I felt so bad for it that I bought it anyways. It now looks great and won't stop growing! Not that I want it to stop.

Dahlia (Stargazer) - Just a seed I planted...one of the few that actually has survived.

Agave of some sort - Still haven't been able to get an ID on this one. Frustrating, but I'll forgive it 'cause it's a neat looking plant.

Echinocereus enneacanthus - I call it my Killer Cactus. Hehe.

Stetsonia coryne (Toothpick Cactus) - This one's a killer cactus too, but the name was taken by above cactus.

Hildewinteria aureispina (Golden Rat Tail) - I saw a larger version of this plant that I really liked, but I love to buy small and watch them grow really big by my hand so I found just a little one.

Aloe striata (Coral Aloe) - Everyone pray for me. I have no luck with aloes, but I thought it was so neat I had to have it, and like Crotons I thought that if I tried enough times I'd get the hang of them.

Codiaeum variegatum (Mammy) - I was telling myself no more plants for a while, but this one was half price at Superstore. What can I say...the addiction kicked in.

And citosa, I'm totally jealous of you. I want an Adenium obesum so bad. I looked on Ebay for some seeds and I found a ton, but I just don't trust anyone over the internet.

Bunnygurl, I've been using eBay for months and FWIW, so far I've only had one bad experience - and that was a matter of human mistake, not fraud.

Seeds are pretty cheap and don't cost a lot to ship, so if you really want to try growing these from seed, consider how few bucks you'd be out if something did go wrong, then decide if you want to chance it. I'd suggest finding a seller with 100% positive feedback - that way you should be pretty safe.

Meanwhile, add Hoya linearis to this month's haul. I went shopping, there it was, and now it's hanging above me as I type.

I think the Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) is so pretty. Are the flowers scented?

some sort of dracaena, 6" pot -- no idea what type (center band of green is a mix of darker green and greyish green, bordered by a thin line of white/offwhite, with the outer leaf margins a lime green if that helps) for $2.75 on 'death row' at Lowes

vft at Lowes in a death cube -- $2.50 to replace the one the birds butchered last year

Alocasia Polly 6" pot, death row plant at Lowes -- $2.98 (though in good shape, no idea how well this one will fare over the course of a winter with REALLY dry air -- I can imagine it being a spidermite magnet)

2 pots of lithops -- figured I'd try them before Lowes killed them all, not sure how they'll do for me

Cryptanthus "Pink Star" (though 'red star' would have made more sense as it certainly is not pink), death row plant at Lowes, 6" rosetta -- $1 or $2 ... can't remember

A collection of plants from a funeral arrangement. Perhaps I will get a pic posted so ya'll can ID things for me. One type of plant is Chamaedorea elegans. I'm sure that one will not survive the winter with me in my indoor conditions & again I understand spidermites love them (which will not inspire me to go to great lengths to keep them).

Aloe ciliaris (Climbing Aloe) - Noticed this one on my second go 'round of the nursery. Helps to double check everything...probably alos helped that I could decide between a bunch of plants.

and Dracaena deremensis Yellow Stripe - I have a normal Janet Craig, so I thought I'd add a little color to the family.

I'm on plant #80!! Eep...I think I need help. >_
