Good afternoon!
Comments (3)We got up early to continue walking that old horse here, Went to where I had left him, and he was gone! We found him about 10 minutes later, happily eating grass behind a nearby house. Caught him and started walking. Had to cross an arched bridge over the bayou, and he wasn't going for that. would hate to fight him on top of it, for fear if he blew up too badly, he could go over the side.......but with a little feed, I coaxed him across. He walked pretty good, but you could tell he was tired. We stopped to rest often. Made it home at 10:30. Turned him loose in the barn lot and gave him some hay. This evening I gave him a little senior feed. I will be feeding him, and the new fillies, four times a day. Small amounts....they assimilate it better....See MoreGood afternoon!
Comments (12)I am so happy you will see your daughter soon, kathsgrdn. Not having a nice regular sleep pattern is exhausting. Have you tried guided imagery to help you get to sleep? I have spent the day trying to organize the family's schedule through the end of the year. My boys are in different schools, so Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks need more coordination than usual. I have accomplished nothing at all on that score. My husband's schedule is the controlling factor and he has a few things up in the air making planning a pain. I will wait until later next week to nail things down. Mama pinky, fish on the grill sounds lovely. I will try adding Parmesan to my oven baked potatoes in the future (I often use salt, pepper and cumin.) No worries about email- I know all about that ;-) Marilyn_Sue, what fun to get to shop with daughters! I have only boys. Nobody likes to shop with me :-(...See MoreGood afternoon!
Comments (6)I was wrapping up the outside gardening (inside is seed germination) this weekend and decided to leave the blooming zinnias and morning glory for color as long as I could get it. It looks to be only a couple more days before they're hit with frost. I'm getting really good this being able to tell the seasons just by the sun in the sky thing ;) The last marching band contest I worked was last weekend. I will be a spectator this upcoming weekend, one time. One time in four years of every contest and football game. I never get to see the show from the stands. This year, they'll be cushioned, reserved seats. All up high. Guess I better remember the camera. I spent all of Friday evening and all day Saturday thanking each person individually for all the kindness shown to us as it's not my son's primary school. We came in as strangers to them all (they all know each other because they grew up in the same neighborhoods and attend the same schools/churches), and we're leaving enriched by their friendships. I spent a lot time on the field crying bittersweet tears. One of the friends said why are you crying? I said I am going to miss y'all, all y'all, something fierce. The reply was, you know where to find us. Truly salt of the earth kind of people. I'm ready to be done with public transport though! Two more train rides and six bus rides. On Thursday, I'll have to be up and ready at the bus stop by 5AM?! I don't relish that one. It's the day he'll have to be at band practice from 6:30AM-7PM with a couple of breaks. Is it over yet?!...See Moregood afternoon, just wanted to know what is wrong with my money plant
Comments (3)Looks like mealy bugs and/or scale. Wipe off as much as you can and spray. Quarantine from other plants, unless all your plants are infested. Since scale (if it is scale) has a waxy shell that resists pesticides, you may have to repeat. With persistent wiping, you can eliminate either pest, but it requires wiping every part of the plant where they are. Not too hard in plants with a few big leaves (I successfully cured an Amaryllis), tough in plants with many leaves and stems. Look up mealy bugs and scale and look at your leaves with a magnifying glass, because diagnosis via the internet is uncertain....See More- 9 years ago
