Why do you need a corner pantry? It's arguably the least efficient use of space for a kitchen pantry.

This house has zero storage. The laundry is very small and the pantry is not that big to begin with. I need more pantry space to hold stuff for a family of 4 and many long term visitors. It wil hold more stuff than corner cabinets and I like the look of the corner pantry at 45 degrees. I could paint the door in a different color to make a statement too. The corner pantry space is very limited in the current proposed design. 2'x5' will allow 10" or max 12" depth for shelves and it will be hard to squeeze by to reach thigs.

Have you considered carving out space for a stackable washer and dryer near your bedrooms so you can turn the present laundry room into a walk through pantry. There is a current trend to put laundry near bedrooms.

The fridge should be closer to the perimeter, so that it's easier for others to access--and it's less likely that someone will cut through the cooking zone to get to it. I'd take the desk space to extend the pantry, before putting it in the corner. It will be closer to the garage entry, and near the fridge, but not in the main work space. If you leave the oven as it's drawn, you could have an appliance garage in the corner, with pull-outs if it's in the budget.

Since you have ample floor space, you might consider pulling the cabinets out to the edge of the fridge box, to give a more built in look, and to increase counter space. Also, you could center the clean-up sink on the back wall, with a prep sink on the island.

If you really want a diagonal feature, maybe put the ovens in the corner (white outline):

So let's talk about your goals for the remodel. I'm hearing that you need more storage space, but what are your other goals? It looks like you are adding a wall between kitchen and LR - is that right?

What do you store in the pantry now? Are there things in there that you would keep in the kitchen, if there was room? Is the pantry space used efficiently?

Do you use the desk now, or could that space be incorporated into the existing pantry?

What are your thoughts on the small island? It seems that it was plunked in there because it was too far from the sink wall to the fridge wall; I would instead move the sink wall in closer, and make both sink and fridge cabinets deeper than standard.

You do have a lot of space, but currently it is being underutilized. There are a lot of things you can do to improve storage in your current kitchen: remove the soffits, and run the cabinets to the ceiling. Add an extra shelf to each of the upper cabinets, so you can store more things without stacking. Use all drawers in your base cabinets.

I remodeled my kitchen 4 years ago, keeping essentially the same footprint. I did add a "wall of tall" cabinet storage in a space where I had a desk (that I never used, so it was a clutter magnet). I used to have a shelving unit in the basement that served as "pantry" for bulk purchases.

By making the uppers a foot taller, and utilizing the existing space much more efficiently, I was able to get rid of the basement shelves, and keep everything in the kitchen. I don't have the calculations on me, but I think I added something like 50 square feet of shelf/drawer space, just by designing more efficiently - in a 10' x 10' kitchen!

Yes, the soffits will be the first to go. No wall will be added between kitchen & LR, it's the existing layout. I am looking to have 42" cabinets and that will provide more storage for the typical things. I have deep drawers below cooktop for my pots & pans. The desk is useless I was going to have a wine refrigerator but now I am thinking about expanding the pantry there.

Half of the existing pantry will be used for the vacuum cleaner and other cleaning supplies. The laundry is 6x7 and hardly enough room for washer, dryer and entry from garage, very tight.

Overall I need more space to store bulk items (Costco stuff) and wanted to use efficiently that corner. Ignore the small island, we were trying for more counter space but gave up, not enough clearance. We don't have many appliances, a toaster & a blendtec that I like to keep on the counter.

It will be very costly to move the sink, budget will limit me to one big bowl sink.
