I know this sounds crazy, but I kind of hate chrome...outside of my chrome oven of course. Do you have any other finish/ hardware suggestions that would go with a black and white/wood kitchen?

To the OP, if you decide on an apron front sink in stainless steel, make sure to look at how the front panel is made. You don’t want a curved one. You also don’t want a SS apron front that is super thick. What Joe Corlett pictures above is more what you want. Some of the cheaper ones have the super thick apron - it intrudes into the usable floor area of the sink. An extra-thick apron also removes the ergonomic advantage of an apron front which is that it is easier on your back to have your body directly against the sink, than to have the slight lean required with an undermount sink with its several inches of counter in front of it. I like the design of the Elkay apron front sink, because it also has an offset corner drain, an advantage. However, I don’t have direct experience with it so I unfortunately can’t advise on whether it’s a quality sink or not. I am in the midst of an entire home reno and am contemplating the colour of door hardware, kitchen knobs, faucets, drapery rods, lighting. How do I mix and match or how do I achieve a cohesive look throughout the house? Should all metals be one colour, or is there a way to mix and match that doesn’t dictate a style? While I do like silver or chrome fixtures (which seem to be timeless) Black seems to be popular. My style is transitional with a nod to traditional, simple lines. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The chandelier is an 1880's brass fixture that hangs over the table. I have had it for many years, from when we lived in our house, and I am emotionally attached to it, so I wanted to keep it. The cabinets are Kraftmaid Vantage, Canvas-painted uppers and Toffee-stained maple lowers. Cambria Helmsley counters. I have some glass door fronts. I thought that the two-tone handles tied in the stainless appliances, sink and faucet with the light. Also, I don't like things that are matchy-matchy. I have to say that the KD didn't really "get it", but when he came by after his crew had finished, I think he understood what I was going for. BTW, whatever hardware you get, buy a few extra, just in case. I think certain cabinets that you touch a lot might need replacements down the road, and as you can see, the ones I got aren't available anymore.
